Yup weeks and weeks of all the media saying he has a 40mil buy out clause.... then Wenger goes just over it(its common for clauses to say essentially anything over the stated amount would trigger it) so he absolutely was in contact.

I don't know if he was, or wasn't, but the fact that someone went and bid a tiny amount over a widely publicised (non)release clause is absolutely NOT proof that they were in contact.

I'm fairly sure I asked this question before with no response. In Wenger's position, assuming he hasn't spoken to Suarez, assuming you had a lower bid rejected and the media talking up a 40mil release clause.... precisely how much over 40mil would your next bid have been. Would you on the off chance there was a release clause, have gone straight to 50mil, or would you have tested if there was a clause by offering just over the rumoured clause?

I can't remember what Rodgers was like at Swansea in terms of tapping players up, if he spoke about anyone publically or not, the vast majority of managers complain about people tapping up their players and talking about bids publically... while doing exactly the same themselves.

I don't care if agents talk to our players, it makes sense to and makes sense for us to talk to other players agents, how else are you going to do it. Sure sometimes people bid blind, often they don't.

No they just didn't publish there previous bids of £25M +£1, £26M +£1, £27M +£1, £28M +£1, £29M +£1....and so on.

Manchester United have rejected an improved offer from Chelsea for England striker Wayne Rooney.

The bid, made late on Sunday, was £25m plus add-ons but United maintain the 27-year-old is not for sale.

While I don't really agree with tapping up players (but it's clear all clubs do it and it happens all the time), I don't think Liverpool are quite ready to preach the moral high ground to other football clubs after the Evragate PR cluster ****.

I still don't understand why Suarez would have wanted to move to Arsenal, I mean, totally get a Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, hell I'd have even understood somewhere like Paris but Arsenal :(.

Well they have to judge him as a footballer, and he has some talent. He still belongs to QPR for this year so newcastle won't need to deal with any legal stuff..
