After the Armenian who's name I can't spell, I don't want to get excited over Willian until it's done. The potential front 4 of Willian, Coutinho & Suarez behind Sturridge looks a bit tasty though - we'd just need an animal in midfield to cover their backsides.

These guys, seem to think Gustavo to Wolfsburg doesnt make sense...

Of course it makes no sense but from what they said, it seems like Bayern are giving Wolfsburg a little helping hand by selling Gustavo for such a low price.
He would have been an awesome signing for Arsenal, a proper DM to protect our back 4...something that he did quite well for Bayern and also Brazil in the Confed Cup a few mths ago.

Meh still 17 or so days left of the transfer window. im just really hoping and praying that Wenger has something big up his sleeve and doesnt want the world to know ie we are going to sign 17 unknown players on freebies:p:D

where's robbo with the weekend thread? enough of this transfer nonsense! let's get this show on road :p

I'm away and only on my phone at the moment, I made it, and Andybtsn is meant to be posting it shortly!

I bet the useless swine has forgotten!

As a spurs fan, three moments just before the season starts are some of my favourite football moments. All the excitement and expectation around new signings has yet to be dashed by an opening day defeat tobacco club we should be beating. Bliss.

Just can't see us signing him at all.

He does have something up his sleeve....£77m and its staying there. Makes no sense to start signing people after the season has started. Things have just gone wrong and there is only one reason, we are still trying to get that diamond in the rough price.

We could have easily got players in if we paid that little bit extra and I think in our situation we have to, having drifted out of the top teams to play for. We used to be able to attract players, now we have CL football as the only thing going for us.

We are going to have to pay that little bit extra until we start winning things again. Bite the bullet and pay the money Wenger!!! :(

in huge news, Stephen Ward has left Wolves for Brighton on a season long loan.

One of Micks favorites, KJ made it obvious that he was one of the 4 players he just wanted to get rid of because of wages. 2 down, 2 to go!

AS usual things are overstated, almost none of those even played for us last year, of the few that did, basically one made more than a handful of starts, and he was completely crap anyway(Mr Forehead), so we've lost from the first team... no one at all, from the squad two, maybe three players, from the club, loads.

Arshavin IS an excellent player who got no chances, almost none of our youth players were worth a damn(as in sub 20 year olds) of the few over 20 year old reserves we had a couple had potential but HAD to leave to get a chance as like Arshavin they had zero shot under Wenger.

Arshavin should absolutely have been playing in the past two years, CHamakh was decent enough, certainly better than Gervinho, as with many others Chamakh's only problem was not being played. The often used didn't score 1 goal from November or something to the end of the season stat, yeah, because he wasn't being played.

It DOESN'T matter who we buy, when will Arsenal fans get this through their heads. If we have an excellent player who says the wrong thing(like "lets try and win something this season rather than fail miserably at tika taka" ) he'll be benched and frozen out. It doesn't matter how good a left back we bring in, Gibbs will play when fit, it doesn't matter if Theo is lazy and does nothing for 89 mins every game he'll play anyway. It doesn't matter if Ramsey or Diaby are rubbish, they'll play whenever possible to ruin the team and throw away crucial points. Whenever there is a crucial run of games in which we can get knocked out of two cups and have no chance at the title in the same three week period, he'll rotate poorly and lose us every crucial game, its what he does.

We've had multiple title capable teams since the last title, we still haven't won anything, because Wenger is delusional and has consistently made woeful decisions at every critical point of the season. Then Arsenal fans get all into a great run at the end of the season when the pressure is off and we can't win anything..... whoop-de-doo, we've done that almost every season, and yet still been completely uncompetitive the following season... until we're out of every competition then we'll go on a run again.

The common factor is Wenger, and he has to go, why does anyone care who he buys, if he buys Suarez, we won't win anything, if we buy Suarez, Fabregas and Ronaldo we won't win anything(and 2 of those 3 players wouldn't join us).

God, will you stop talking already. You know nothing about nothing fella!!!

Seems like we are pleading at empty ears over at the Emirates :(. Its like a few people have said, something has gone horribly wrong at Arsenal...whether its Wenger or someone else, we have got this transfer window completely and utterly wrong. For the first time in god knows how many years, we actually have quite a bit of money to spend but as of yet, nothing has been spent AT ALL. Meanwhile our rivals Spurs have spent over £60mill, now whether or not those players they have bought will gel together is another thing entirely but still its making us look very silly. All that chest thumping at the end of the season about how we have £70mill or so to spend is turning out to be a complete joke.

Worst thing is that now Arteta could be out for 6 weeks :(...huge loss there and we have lost out on Gustavo who would have been more than capable to take over from Arteta. Hes signed for Wolfsburg on a 5 yr contract :/. But unless we sign some players, i can see us struggling with injuries. Only a matter of time before Wilshere gets injured and doesnt play for the rest of the season:p.
