Ok, then you tell me when the last time he was CONSISTANTLY good for Utd!!

18 months ago - it MUST be something like that.

It really isn't, but it isn't worth the time to dig up the stats and attempt to convince that you are being a bit dim, because well, it's too late to rectify that.

Last season he was injured like mad and never got fit, he was still our most productive winger.

Also, the season everyone went crazy about Valencia - Nani was just as good, remember.

I'm unsure where you get 70million from, net spend is closer to 30 prior to this summer and it will be even lower as we haven't spent any money yet this window, despite Tom Werners comments of going big in the summer window back in January, add the BT money and we would appear to have a hole burning in our pocket, if the transfer committee had identified Willian as who they wanted after missing out on 'others' either through being frugal or other reasons then they should have gone the additional 5million on him (not really sure where you've got 10-15 from as personal terms had already been agreed by all accounts).

No offense but you live in a dream world mate. The £70m figure is taken from the club accounts. FSG gave the club £30m when they initially took over they then (for some random reason) took back £7-8m but shortly after gave the club a further £46-47m. That's what they've given the club, not directly what we've spent on transfers. That said, our net spend prior to this summer is also around £70m. I have no idea where you've got £30m from - we spent £40m net last season alone.

And whether we agreed personal terms with Willian or not, once Chelsea came in and no doubt offered more wages than us, we'd have had to at least matched that (most probably bettered it in fact) for him to consider joining us. Over a 4 year contract you'd have been looking at well over £10m more.

Arsenal stick to their valuation and thus miss out on targets continually, Liverpool appear to be sticking to their valuation of players and missing out on targets. If thats not a correlation I dont know what is :)

Every club have and stick to their valuations and at times miss out on players because of it. Some clubs valuations or what they're prepared to go to vary depending on how much cash they've got. The difference between us and Arsenal is that we are going out and buying players where as Arsenal or Wenger in particular seem to only want to sign the perfect player (for them) at the perfect price. .
Why would we have had very little chance in signing Popadoplous if he had no knee issues by the way? I haven't seen any other teams actively looking at signing a CB apart from PSG, and he doesn't fit the profile they are spending money on. Re Illori I would say we are back in for him as we are down to one trusted CB with Kolo's injury personally.

Because other clubs would have most likely been in for him. The reason why they're not is because of his injury. And it's not just PSG in for a CB - Spurs are, Barca are and so are City.

You're guessing re Illori. We've been continually linked with a move for Illori all summer and even before Toure's injury Rodgers confirmed that we wanted to sign a CB.
....the main thing here is to back AVB, that's what we've done.

I've never mentioned whether you're backing AVB or not. I questioned your theory that Lewis gave the club £50m which was why you were spending all this cash and that it wasn't linked to Bale's inevitable departure. I stand by that and everything that's happened suggests I was right.

great. why not just stand by your club instead? i don't know why you get so anal over spurs having a big spending window for the first time in ....... forever.

It's not about Spurs. You have a terrible habit of reporting bs rumours as fact. It must have been 18 months since you claimed Spurs had agreed a £50m per year stadium naming rights deal. When is it getting announced CM?

lol you're amazing cm. I wouldn't have bothered with the I told you so post had you not got arsey when I first asked you about the Lewis/£50m story. I actually thought there might have been something in it when I first read your post but when you wouldn't tell me where it came from and I remembered who I was talking to, I knew it must be some bs from either twitter or a random forum.
