LOL @ the thread title change:p:D

Hopefully by today we should see the end of the whole Balegate saga, gone on far too long and one way or another they should just put an end to it.

Dont think Arsenal will get Benzema, Di Maria or even Ozil..despite the rumours that Spurs are delaying the sale of Bale to Real so that Arsenal cannot strengthen. Cany see either of those 3 players coming to Arsenal from a side that can potentially win trophies to a side that is still pretty far from winning trophies etc. Although with any of those 3, we would be a much better side.

Hoping our self professed best striker in the world, finally does one and goes to Palace but i have a feeling nothing will happen because of his wage demands.

Another day left after today, window closes at 11pm tomo so will be interesting to see if Wenger manages to sign anyone of note.

Spurs are playing dirty games it seems!

This is just media nonsense, why don't Arsenal or whoever just bid for the players they want and can afford? Do people think that Real Madrid would want to be screwed over from not being able to get rid of players in time?

I'd also add why is it that Spurs are the only club willing to take the gamble and buy a shed loads of shiny new players when the entire Bale bid could fall through?

Ozil didn't even come off the bench today.

You'd think that Madrid would shift one of their players if they're getting Bale. Players like Ozil don't want to be on the bench.

I'm really just hoping for Herrera and Fellaini now. Both would be rather good. Still need our wingers to play well this season though!

Of course its nonsense, fact is that Real wont sell Benzema to us even for £50mill, since they let Higuain go..he is going to be their main man at the front.

Di Maria and Ozil i dont think want to leave, i think both of them have said as much although Ozil being on the bench wont make him happy at Real.

But again we should be strengthening with players we need rather than buying players we dont really need in all honesty.

The Bilbao manager speaking after the Real Madrid game said he doesn't know what's happening with Herrera, and we'll find out by tomorrow (the close of the window). Fingers crossed then.

This is a tad bit worrying for Arsenal fans, Wenger saying that he would never work under a director of football.

'A director of football buys the players. When they don't work you (the manager) are guilty for them not playing well. If it works, the director of football has bought well,' the French coach said.

'I am not against having people to help me buy and sell. I cannot do it all - I am not Superman, but the final decision has to belong to the manager to decide who comes in and who goes out.

'He is responsible for the style of play and the results.

'I have to stand up for the results of the team. It makes sense that the manager makes those decisions.'

Wenger has often been charged with taking on too much in terms of player recruitment since the departure of close ally David Dein from the boardroom.

The Gunners boss, though, sees no issues with the current set-up.

'I have people around me who help, but the final decision has to be down to the manager," he said.

'I have a good experience of the game. I have played over 900 games here, but I don't deny that the transfer market is a problem for me.

'It conflicts with the competition when that competition has already started.'

Seems like what i read a few weeks back seems to be somewhat true in that Wenger controls everything transfer wise :/ And its costing us good players because Wenger is gun shy on paying big fees for world class players.
