I don't understand why Defoe gets such a crap deal from the Spurs hierarchy. He's been stellar for them every season, perhaps last season you could argue he wasn't great but he chipped in with a few goals and is a cracking finisher. He's had a crap deal from whoever's been in charge at Spurs.

i was thinking the same thing. his whole career infact, he's never really cemented a place that his ability deserved. he has been pretty poor at finding the net recently but his finishing is good but lately he has been shooting straight at the keeper an unbelievable amount and not passing when he perhaps should. he'd bang them in for a team like fulham but i don't think him and berba would work as a partnership. imo he would be superb at arsenal with how they play.

BBC Sport's Ben Smith reports Tottenham are set to appoint former England assistant manager, Franco Baldini as their new technical director after the Italian left his post at Roma on Wednesday.

Once appointed, Baldini will take charge of the scouting set-up and transfer policy at White Hart Lane with manager Andre Villas-Boas understood to be keen to work in a continental management structure.

Baldini knows the Premier League well, of course, having spent four years as Fabio Capello's right-hand man during his time with the England national team

Good, I much prefer our pre Redknapp era of scouting, damien comolli does not get enough credit for the players he got to spurs, yes some duds but soem good ones as well!

Being reported that Chelsea have made a £35m offer for Hulk. Silly season has definitely started.

Is it silly season, or is it just Chelsea throwing their money around again?

As Falcoa is now not available, its not that surprising that Chelsea might look at Hulk (again?)

Does anyone actually rate Hulk. I've seen him a number of times over the years and he's never looked anything other than a decent striker. Certainly not 15 million+.

Surprising yes, because Hulk is overhyped ****, although saying that the recent history of Chelsea spending tens of millions of pounds on rubbish strikers does make one wonder :p really though it looks like lazy tabloids recycling ancient rumours, or maybe an agent looking for another easy payday.

I preferred the other entirely made up story from Marca earlier in the week, Chelsea will sell Juan Mata because Mourinho doesn't like Spanish players
