Great news if Strootman does say at PSV... a nice £26m for us plus the other £18m or so that you'll pay for Baines. :)

Arguably.. I don't doubt his talent but he drifts out of the game and sometimes for long periods.

I actually agree with the majority regarding Dembele. Up to the point where he got injured, He was outstanding and was set for a great season. He was rushed back and not really fit for the most part. Thought we were starting to see the fit Dembele at the end of the season though. Without the security of Sandro though he was often found out of position and had to work a lot harder off the ball.

I fully expect Dembele to show his true form this season and will have direct competition from Paulinho, That said Paulinho is a lot more versatile so there will be space on the pitch for two of them imo. We have, I think the strongest midfield engine in the prem. I fully expect to see Avb utilize the 4-3-3 a lot this year.

Wow Stoke and an ex-Barca player just shouldn't be in the same sentence!
I remember he was a fairly good prospect on Football Manager.

Why not, or are you another one of those people who're confusing Stoke City with the Stoke City under Tony 'cluless' Pulis? Pulis has gone, perhaps it's about time you changed the record.

Stoke signing the dutch international left back and a spanish u21 international cb/lb from Barcelona for the combined sum of £3mil and its only the 2nd July. So this is what it feels like to be a premier league team, I'm happy with Hughes so far :)

What you have to remember is that Barcelona don't really have defenders. Puyol is about as defensive as they can accept. I still have no idea at all how Pique is in their 1st XI and regularly gets picked in "world XI's"

That's all good though isn't it, does Sandro ever venture forward?

not often and i prefer him infront of the back 4 in the 'gate keeper role'

he has scored a couple of long rage efforts for us

but i prefer charging and destroying opposition attacks rather than being part of our attacks

Yeah, that's what i thought. So it'll be him just sitting with Dembele and Paulinho charging up and down, you're going to be very physical next year.

It looks like Shelvey's off. Tonight's Guardian and Telegraph are reporting that a £6m fee has been agreed with Swansea and he could complete his move by the weekend, however the local papers in Liverpool will supposedly be reporting in the morning that he's off to Palace.

Either way, £6m's not a bad price for him. He's got a bit about him but failed to take his chances last season - with Coutinho and now the signing of Alberto, he wasn't going to get much of a look in next season.

Junior Malanda has terminated his contract at Zulte Waregem. Us and Fulham were interested in him in January, be good if we can get him read a few things that say he's a bit of a beast.

£6m for him and £15m+ for Carroll? We must have hired a new sales team!
