Sunbed use... The new Smoking?

The main thing things that age you are UV exposure, and habitual alcohol consumption.

Between 2008 to 2010 I had a special software I used to use with mainly Year 10 and 11 girls (LET ME FINISH).
It was quite weird how these schoolgirls would be quite honest about their smoking, drinking and sunbathing activities.
I'd take a picture of them and run the software with their details in and then slide up 20 years into the future.
The looks on their faces was golden "OMG I look like my nan" etc but whether it made them stop was another thing.

My colleague who was very black from Nigerian descent asked me to photo her and she only sunbathed.
When she saw what she looked like 20 years on she did vow to stop, I was also gobsmacked why somebody so black sunbathed anyway.

Because they are young, they don't know the risks or think they'll be fine. These kids probably say 'I don't understand how people ever smoked or drank themselves silly every week'... but you did that ;)
To be fair, if you stop the drinking to excess and smoking before you wreck your liver or get lung cancer, your body recovers pretty well and you can get away with it.

No coming back from having your skin trashed by UV!

sunbathing per se. is a bit boring, unless you just do it between swimming.

occassionally put sun-cream on back of neck out running/cycling in UK (cap/helmet), but the cream is just horrible stuff on face - clogs up the ageing pores,
I guess wearing make-up daily feels similar,
mostly try and avoid stuff in the midday heat in UK summer and abroad, whilst living abroad let tan builds up gradually which gives less damage - I hope/thought.

would like to know what the cyclists use on the Tour de france and similar - can you get good cream if you are ready to pay

I'm sat out on the garden now, beavering away in my garden office.

I'm gonna try and get a good few hours out here today.

I know......it's a hard life right?

I do put factor 50 on my face though, need to keep those boyish good looks of course.

I'll never forget when i went to Thorpe Park with a few friends. We were queuing for Nemesis and there was a significant part of the queue that had zero shade. I watched my friend turn to a crisp in front of my eyes  It was the first time I ever saw how bad sunburn could be for some people. I always thought people made a bigger deal than it was about it but it looked awful lol. Literally looked like a squashie
Same happened to my colleague a few weeks ago. Went to Thorpe Park over the weekend, came back with sunburn on his face. I think the killer is that with the parts with zero shade, you're going to be standing there for ages due to the queue times.
