About the Game
LOSE YOUR MIND. EAT YOUR CREW.

Take the helm of your customised steamship and set sail for the unknown! Sunless Sea is a 2D game of discovery, survival and loneliness set in the award-winning Victorian Gothic universe of Fallen London. Will you succumb to madness and cannibalism on the black waters? Or return home triumphant with a hold full of precious loot?

Events can turn out differently every game - sometimes, even if you make the same choices. Will you lose your sweetheart to a curse? Redeem, betray or consume the Genial Magician? Sell your soul to the Wistful Deviless or spurn her advances? Is the Dawn Machine your salvation, or your doom?

You are the captain. It’s your call.

“Sunless Sea takes the excellent writing and world-building of Fallen London, and injects it into a 2D exploration, trading and survival game. It’s Elite but with steamships instead of starships.”

Eurogamer said:
“A wonderful prospect: a game of exploration, loneliness, risk, adventure and madness taking place across a vast subterranean ocean riddled with islands, with dangers, with dripping trophies of the deep.”

“One of the best worlds ever written for a game... I'm having a great time with Sunless Sea.”

The setting seems interesting and a sort of 2D version of elite has got me a bit excited. Anyone else think this game looks interesting?

I read the user reviews on this, nice to see steams review system being used well, and going off them I think I'll wait a bit longer.

Was very tempted though

I played a little last night, I think this is going to be epic fun. Reminds me a little of Elite and FTL.

I dip in now and then. It's got promise, but I'm going to reserve my full judgment for a later build and a longer playthough.

I see there has been a big combat update recently, has anyone played around with it? I picked this up on sale last night for £10 but haven't got round to playing it yet.

I played for about 15 minutes a while back and was left a bit bewildered. I'll have to try again it seems!

Hadn't heard of it until today but after reading and seeing a few vids I know it's right up my street.

Picked this up the other day and I'm waiting on the full release before playing. Sadly I'll probably have to head out tonight before it's released.

I haven't tried it yet, but the combat sounds more interesting. It was definitely a weak point before.

pretty crap tbh the combat everyoone says the same thing so it's not just me.

they took away the strategy of turn based but it doesn't have the fun of arcade combat either.

get the game for the lore and stories not for the combat

I've been exploring and collecting swashbuckling tales from the islands and reporting them back to the admiral guy. I much prefer it to the combat side, although I imagine that will be better with a better ship. Amazing game though.
