Superb must have accessory for the ps3, for PC gamers, and FPS freaks!

the only problem is it will totally unbalance multiplayer games, this is one reason im glad Microsoft haven't bought out a keyboard mouse accessory. If this was allowed, anyone who wanted to win a game would have to get it.
 
Destroys the level playing field offered by joypads on consoles and mouse / keyboard on PC.

You get a few people with these gizmo's and wham they'll own people everyone else.

FASA spent a long time leveling the playing field for Shadowrun and it's clearly visible what everyone is using. You can also pick 360 only fights afaik.

Are Sony going to offer users the choice of entering joypad only rooms if you fancy a fair game?

no but the point is an average player with a keyboard and mouse will almost certainly beat a good player using a gamepad, the increase in accuracy is just too much.
 
i think its brillaint. i have always likes the mouse option on FPS. and i think its brilliatn to bring it to a console.

its liek when i stick my ps2 pad on the computer to play PES, (yes i have it on the ps2, but i love the mods you can do on the PC, so i play on both)

ooooor, Allow people to try different innovations, and perhaps find something they find more comfortable and easy to use, and in doing so increase the pleasure they recieve from their gaming machine.
 
Looks not to shabby and a good review it got, but as with most people games should offer controller only games if this peripheral offers too much of an advantage over your controller only type player.

I see this accessory really apealling to those of us who are used to kb/m's because of years of pc gaming and to younger people who will almost do anything to ensure they win online (I know there are adults like this, but i find them to be a rare occurance compared to their younger counterparts).

Absolutely spot on, it's the reason Xbox Live will be the superior playing field in 12 months. I prefer the even balance.
 
I would love something like that for the 360, I've not really enjoyed Gears of War or GRAW2 simply because I can't get the hang of the pad. Only console FPS I ever managed to play with a pad was Goldeneye, because the N64 controller was perfectly designed for it.
 
I've read that for upcoming games like Unreal on the PS3 you can plug in a regular USB Keyboard\Mouse to play.

Personally i'd like to see a level playing field, everyone using the same hardware.
 
hmm am i the only one actually wondering what "IS" the difference in gaming between a great keyboard/mouse fps player and a good gamepad fps player? i mean surely you cant say its worse till there in the same match or something.

its pretty damn obvious, anyone thats ever experienced PC FPS multiplayer (best examples counter strike and UT) compared to Console FPS multiplayer (Halo or GoW) will know the difference in quality between the control systems. Dont get me wrong i love both but you cant have M/K and Gamepad users playing together unless you give gamepad users serious autoaim, which sucks.
 
I'd buy this tomorrow if it was out over here (UK). I hate using the controller for FPS games, or even 3rd person games for that matter. I sold Rfom recently without finishing it due to having to use the controller and struggling.

Although I found the 360 controller a lot better than the PS3 one I'd still prefer to use a K/B & mouse.

I don't care about level playing field etc, as long as I'm enjoying the game thats all that matters IMO..
 
I really do understand and agree that consoles should have a level playing field but my problem is i am useless on FPS with a Joypad. I've been trying to play FPS games with a joypad for years now but i always get frustrated and give up, I think it makes it harder if you own a PC as well and play a lot of FPS with keyboard and mouse.

With PC games drying up and consoles becoming the platform of choice for Devs surely it would be a good idea to let people decide what they want to use and allow filters in multiplayer games so you can decide to block users with either M & K or Joypad creating two different gaming tiers per game
 
Personally, I prefer the keyboard & mouse to gamepad, and will probably get somethinbg similar if available. As far as I'm concerned you can stick level playing fields where the sun don't shine (as I have little inclination to play online). I just want the best and most comfortable gaming expewrience, and for me a mouse & kb gives me that in a FPS..........likewise a wheel in racing games. In fact, can't the same arguement be levelled against people using a wheel online in Forza? :p
