Superbowl

I'll be watchin, been following the Packers since i was in school. Go Cheeseheads :)

Also for some of the haters it is my understanding that:

Although it is widely assumed that the word football, or "foot ball", originated in reference to the action of a foot kicking a ball, this may be a false etymology. The historical explanation has it that the word originally referred to a variety of games in medieval Europe, which were played on foot. These sports were usually played by peasants, as opposed to the horse-riding sports more often enjoyed by aristocrats.

Go Pack!!

Gona be tough pulling the distance tonight, was at work 7am, back tomorrow same time... 2hrs sleep.

Hope we win and make the day set comatose worth it:)

The half time show won't beat last years with The Who!

The last decent half time show was Prince tbh, nothing has come close since.

I will be watching it tonight with a few homies, Budweiser, Millers and hot dogs. No non-cliche American food or drink to be consumed during the game, thems the rules.

If anyone lives in/around the Bristol town centre there's a superbowl party at The Hill pub on Cotham Hill. Should be good. There are pizza eating challenges and lots of other entertainment.

It's not football dammit.. :)

Neither is rugby, you realise that rugby is football right?

Association football - normal football as you know it
Rugby football - rugby
American football - NFL etc
Australian football league - Aussie rules football.
There are others as well, but don't let that stop you being ignorant ;)

I'll be watching.

I absolutely love it

As for all you fools going on about the padding, feel free to take a hit from a 300+ pound dude running at you full pelt. This is their careers on the line and they want to protect it

Just like footballers do when they fall over when someone gets within a meter of them, so they dont bruise there egos :D

Also, the padding is used to protect the opposition too. Elbows, knees, shoulders and the like are all sharp and can do some serious damage. Put some fluffy stuff around them, and its good to go

It is an awesome sport if you take the time to understand it

The billion viewers tuning in for it should be enough to make you realise that

And finally, Go steelers!! :D

As with every year, I have no idea of the rules. I have never watched a single league game. But.... Superbowl wooooo. Will be staying up all night to watch it.

Soccer players dive to the floor when simply touched in an attempt to play injured to win the game and are often carted off out of the game with very minor injuries and congratulated for doing so because the team is rewarded for their efforts. Soccer players are rewarded for being wimps.

The same used to be the case for basketball and it was unwatchable and for girly men until they changed it from non contact to semi contact because they realised how pathetic it was.

American football players on the other hand try to hide their injuries so they can play longer, hit harder and keep those inches for the bonus pay outs.

American football is a real mans game, soccer is for wimps and is played in America by girls like netball over here is. They are real men and there is no reward for playing injured and you are actively challenged to hit, hit hard and get hit, get up and keep going.

Of course, neither are the ultimate sports, real combat sports, but its a brilliant big mans game.
