*** Supreme Commander 2 ***

My bandwidth is maxxed out under the beta. Cool. Shame I'm too knackered to play it tonight as it's almost me bed time :(

Watched a few of the videos on Gametrailers, the experimental units look pretty dull compared to SupCom, no more army destroying titans.

Initial impressions are they have somehow managed to ruin what should have been a great follow on to SC/FA. They would have been better off naming the game something else as its nothing like the prequels. Maybe I am being harsh having finished a skirmish game of Forged Alliance 30mins ago. I'll see if my initial impression change after a few goes. Graphics are also poor.

wow what a dissapointment! Consoles goes and screws another game!

Spam research plants
Cant run out of power
If you dont have enough power or mass you cant building anything
Engineers cant assist a build (they can on building units tho)
Experimentals can be churned out in a matter of seconds with just your commander
Research points are spent instantly
Extremely dumbed down version
Units get stuck really easily
Units dont state what role they are (i.e. Does this battleship shoot AA?)
Again FU consoles

Terrible, thank god i didnt waste my money

Back to played SUPCOM Forged Alliance

Forged Alliance it ain't. Only run through the tutorial for now (I'll try the rest tomorrow). But first impressions and feel of it so far are not good.

Get the demo, it's only a gig and a half or so and make up you own mind

Nate

Oh dear, comments are very off putting. Surely they cant have killed such a grandiose franchise... Demo downloading too for morning play:(

experimentals aren't so super anymore....not good
anybody find that 1st real mission rather irritating to the eyes....its quite dark but when you zoom out the fog makes it quite bright....started to give me a bit of a headache and i aint just saying it. i actually need a painkiller now.

Just played 5 mins and that was enough for me. No longer large scale. The fact that I couldn't see any of the enemies in the first mission straight way was silly. One enemy mass exacter thing was so close to my navy base the naked eye could see it. Then there is the fact that you no longer zoom out as much.

Graphics are silly as well. Models look ok but the textures look like the stuff I made for X3 when I was 16 and just got Photoshop. Weapon ranges also suck and all the projectiles seem to move in slow motion.

My mate who I am on skype with at the moment built an expermental in 5 mins, and took his commander less than a minute to build it on its own. Just seems wrong. Also says that rangers for weapons ect have not got better as he has already maxed out the reseach tree. The economy is also a joke. Lots of micro management is there for no reason at all.
In my eyes this game has nothing to do with supcom. I am already installing FA again so i can enjoy all that made supcom great in the first place.

Just to mirror the other comments made here. It doesn't have anything in it that made the originals stand out from other RTS'. No more epic scale, units feel very restricted, lack of unit choice, economy (which wasn't hard in the first place) requires a fair bit of micro for buildings, a base doesn't feel like a base and just generally very underwhelming. I'm hoping the retail release is better but I'm not pre-ordering it.

I just wish they'd fix FA so it didn't slow to a crawl.

Aww glad my rig is not working now giving this a miss now sounds like a let down, need a new PC only based RTS then it might be a different story stupid consoles are ruining games for PC users.

Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising! I'm looking forward to that :D

I have to say, after playing the C&C4 Multiplayer beta, I enjoyed that a lot more even with the completely different gameplay style.

You know what, i just played the main campain and it NOWHERE near as bad as i thought it would be. I went in with very low expectations and was surprised. No, it's not quite as good as the first game, nowhere near, but it's still very good.

Aye I guess I can agree with that. For someone who didn't play the first, I imagine that the 2nd would feel all very comfortable and exciting.

But that's the thing why buy this game if its not as good as the game that came before it? And if you have never played the 1st then buy that as it is better and cheaper.
