it would also require a lot more than the 2.7 mod as the 3.0 patch updates the EXE and makes the EXE actively search for a gas powerd games connection

Its not wrong, I have just been searching for the beta and crack and had a look on the GPG forums. Someone asked if it was ok and one of the devs replied it was fine, just that they wouldn't supply any support for the cracked version.
I found it relatively easy... A few quick Googles and browse on some public torrent sites gave good results.
Have just been having a play against a bot. Didn't really know what I was doing and got my ass handed to me on easy! It does tend to run a bit slow, even with one AI and my X2 running at 2.75 alongside an X1900XT. But it is still a beta so it will probably be optimised a lot better by release. It seems fun, does appear to be TA just on a grander scale, which is always a good thing!

its currently only using a single core of your X2 as well. the final will use dual core.
Its strange really. So many places are so paranoid about cracking software etc. But the team behind Supreme Commander seem to have Supreme Common sense too. They didnt expect it to stay closed, they expected a crack. Theyve acted against it, but ultimately arnt punishing the masses of fans that really want a taste.
