Surf's Up

i would have died.

My only real fear. being out in sea and seeing a shark coming towards me. horrible things!

Sharks don't like the taste of humans it's why 99% of attacks only end in one bite.

When you are surfing or on a body board with flippers you look like a big fat seal to these sharks

I hate swimming in the oceon. When its dark below you and you cant see anything. My mind goes berserk thinking about all the stuff that could be below me. Totally freaks me out.

Saw a shark a few weeks back about 30ft from sure near Avon, NC. Been a load of shark attacks around there in the last month. I was swimming in the same spot about 20minutes before hand. The shark was huge 6-8ft oceanic white tip most likely. Everyone just rushed out of the water and stained at it!

Suffice to say for the rest of the day I didn't go in over my ankles!

I would like to thank Breakfast TV for pointing out that if I looked to the right of the surfer I would see the fin of a shark. That was very helpful because silly me thought it was the fin of some sort of exotic breed of Koi carp. Where would I be if it were not for the BBC keeping me right as I am so thick.

and this is why I don't go any further than about chest deep in the sea.

A photo i took last week in the Azores. It was about 2 meters away at that point and came in to about 50cm away.

Sleep well! ;)

Sharks are amazing animals. They attack surfers because the silhouette of the board with the legs and arms sticking out the sides makes them think the surfers are turtles.

He was good to punch it, really disorientates them.
