Demand to have a USDAW (think thats right) union rep in on the proceedings even if you are not part of the union they can still help you.
Also make sure you are honist and dont go comering facts to make things seem to go in your favor (I have been in a situation not that different).

I am always thanking my staff and if all goes well during the day, I will ask them if they would like to go home early or have an extra break. I also going through a department transition to make two of my staff take some courses to improve thier ability and see what it is like to become a manager or supervisor within Morrisons. Both are very willing to take this opportunity onboard.
I have been with Morrisons 6 years this week and really enjoy it. I strated out as a butcher then went on to Assistant manager of the Butchery and now manager of the Fishbar.. theres no end. I will be considering Bakery next then onto Senior Management. This will mean I will have the three main skilled trades under my belt thus securing my future in work. people will always want Meat, Bread and Fish.
Morrisons is a great company to work for. Yes some of you lot are right about certain people being horrible etc but you will get this at 90% of work places and not just Morrisons or other retail companys.

However you then need to train a new employee and even after 2-3 months they won't be as "good" as somebody who had been there for a longer period of time.
I'm in agreement with Garp.
You speak seriously with any "boss" about jobs ranging from High Management down to the lowest jobs.
It is far easier and more cost effective to get somebody in to do a job and then keep them employed than it is to go through all of the hassle of letting somebody go.
Especially so if the company then plans on taking somebody else in exactly the same role.
If for no other reason than longer-term members of staff are usually (where no strict pay grade system exists) are likely to be on lower wages then somebody coming into the same role.
Their pay rises will have been based on a percentage increase and not on what somebody in that role should neccessarily be on.
We see a fair few threads here on "Suspended", "sacked" etc and it doesn't take long for somebody to post about how they are acting illegally, how the employee is (poster here) cannot possibly be in the wrong and how management were just looking for an excuse.
I'm sure on some occasions that is true, but in the majoirty of cases it isn't and the employee has been dragged infront of a hearing for a reason.
A lot of these posts remind me of the "Driving instructors have a quota of fails to fill".
It's complete and utter crap, yet for some reason somebody will always make the quote when somebody posts "I failed my driving test" rather than maybe looking at the real and truthful reason the person failed.

good luck, god knows why you'ed want to get back to tescos as they are just a pain to work for, when I was there a guy had just had a ruling overturned and his job back, but some of the managment spent all their time making his life hell.
on this point, I had the tester on my 2nd driving test tell me that he had filled his quota for today and couldn't pass anyone.

Yeah but 3 months already served.
I also lodged a grievance at the same time and that was dealt with today. The Store Manager (my accuser) essentially went about making the most long winded apology without actually saying sorry. Was quite amusing tbh :>

only read most of the first page, why dont you park on the very limits of your car park... the furthest point away from the store... nobody parks there anyway so it wont cause a hassle and its only a 1 min walk for you..
