I addition to what others have stated, even if they can prove on balance of probability that you were the driver at the time, they are only entitled to reasonable damages, £150 is not reasonable damages (and the fact that they are willing to reduce it by *half* for quick payment, is an indication that they are clearly trying to profit from it)

Which is clearly an indication that they aren't a licensed, above board car park operator and it's scam which only stupid people fall for.
local euro carparks place where our KFC is has this
free car parking for 2 hours, but you get fined if you stay longer than that. Its stupid as what if you want to stay in the retail park (theres more than KFC here) more than 2 hours ? theres no means to pay and display so they actually want to try and fine you

Simply write to them requesting proof, if they cannot provide proof they are the cease persuit of the fine. If they continue to pesture you after that, then they are harrassing you which is illegal.
Non council organisations cannot enforce parking fines, they only exist on the premise that some people panic and pay up.
This fine will have no impact on you what so ever so just ignore it, or write a letter stating the above.

Ivd had a couple of these letters before. Just throw them in the bin and ignore them unless its issued by the council or police.

I'd be printing out a big "**** YOU" in 72pt Arial, and addressing it to them.
They rely on people being stupid enough to pay to get them to stop harassing them, and it's extortion.
I got one of these last year, some cowboy company called WJ Parking. I was in the process of writing a nice letter telling them to go away or i'll have them for harassment, when the girlfriend stupidly phoned up and paid for it without telling me.
Exactly the kind of person they love - clueless types who think it's legally binding. Needless to say I wasn't pleased.

I received a parking invoice from Civil Enforcement some time ago. I used the Consumer Forums templates to deny liability and request evidence. In total I wrote approximately 4 letters to Civic Enforcement and 1 to a debt collection agency using the templates and I have not heard anything for over a year.

It's a private firm, ignore them. Nothing they can do but write to you.

- It is be the driver who is liable, and you are under no obligation to reveal it.
- If it's free parking anyway, how is the charge representative of any loss of earnings?

You refering to the KFC on Cathedral Retail Park by any chance MrLOL?
Iirc there has been several stories in wakefield express over people getting clamped down there.
Ive spotted the euro carparks squad a few times down there. Everytime they have been sat in a plain white van, think it was renault kangoo/citroen berlingo with no sign writing. Watching to prey on there next victim.
Only reason i knew it was them in the van was because i walked past it up close and noticed the uniform with their logo on.
