Its quite easy to pick up, but the first few hours are not that great (very similar to mass effect in that effect), once the story gets going though, boy does it get going, so stick with it.

It's not.

Few .ini edits make it a lot less crash-prone, but there are some places in the game that will need an XP machine to get past.

i'd still get it at that price, that just my experience on vista x64. KotOR II has been flawless gameplay wise on W7 x64, just saving that kills it. haven't tested KotOR I yet.

From reading about its apparently due to multi-core rendering. Apparently the game doesn't like more than one core.

Just checked & my game starts up only assigned to core 0.

Played the first little bit, not sure I like it. Looks like it is one of those games that takes a while to get into.

Definitely. You don't get a jedi character / lightsaber for a while either. Stick with it, it's slow to start, but worth it.

There are a lot of mods available for this too, just google kotor mods and you'll see a ton of stuff. Mostly item / character mods, there's a good sound mod out there too though, I used it on kotor 2.

This was an excellent game when I played it years ago.... wonder how it will hold up against Mass Effect, which I think is the better game.

when i played it vista 64 last time i got over halfway through and it crashed same with kotor2
