The forum automatically blanks out swearwords like **** or ****
It even blanks out your password if you type it in to stop account theft, pretty cool if you ask me. Try it!

That's odd, didn't seem to work, I can see it pretty clearly!
for example I got a suspension a day or two after posting a youtube video in which I hadn't noticed a swear word part way through...
I got suspended for the same thing, a single swear word at the end of a relevant and hilarious mitchell and webb sketch that didn't even register when I watched it. It was ridiculous. I thought the reason for no swearing was to keep it appropriate kids, but preventing personal attacks makes much more sense from a moderating standpoint and I completely understand and support that, but at the same time made no sense for enforcement within video embeds.
To a certain extent still makes no sense for image embeds, if this is the primary reason. I think I got banned for a swear word in a 4chan image once. It was something funny/interesting to contribute to the thread, by no means an insult or attack on anyone.
Either way, really happy about the amendments, especially if it means you won't actually get suspended for a slipup. And major props to the team for actually taking the feedback on board and doing something about it.
It must be very difficult getting the balance right when administering and moderating a forum of this size that's associated with a business at it's core, yet incredibly active with people from all walks of life across the UK (and the world) as a whole.
While things are getting changed up, now we just need some new more modern forum software
And why am I not allowed to add attachments
I would really like to be able to post pics
You can, but you must host them on a 3rd party image hosting site first such as imgur.com and then embed the image in your post instead of uploading it directly to OcUK servers
you need to look at it for a long time, eventually it'l avert its gaze and you will win
