SWG Emu

On the client click option or settings. In there somewhere.

Well, I've done all the tweaks I could from the launcher and in-game video settings.

As for anti-aliasing and ambient occlusion, I'm trying out some Nvidia game profiles, see if they work.

FPS was removed with one of the removed patches, but it could also be reduced with a simple program created for the old SWG.

Render distance seems capped at the game settings and resets every time I launch the game.

I have to admit, SWGEmu is a project I have followed with great interest since SWG CU, and at a point in time when the SWGEmu was only a concept. A basic ASP driven website. With no client or gameplay it was only words to go by when they announced it.

Now, it is well and truely playable. Yes, there are likely to have more character wipes before they have it all implemented, but its all fun and games.

I login from time to time, but I'm not playing it hardcore. Currently aiming my char back to what I had 'back in the day'. TKA Master + Master Doc, with a full complement of Composite Armour and buffs :p

My very last screenshot of the original swg (going down for wow clone)

I plan to start this again too, I used to play a rifleman/doc and a Jedi pre-cu, although the Jedi got ebayed off by my brother as it was a seperate account... Will be fun to go back though and try some of it out again, although it looks really dated nowdays. I still have the old discs, will have to install it :)

I installed this yesterday and was hit with a wave of nostalgia as soon as I logged in. Although I didnt play the original for long, it was my first MMO and had a huge impact on me.

I played for about an hour with minimal issues (worth it just for the nostalgia). Everyone seems to be an old timer coming back to chill out.

I really dont know what I'm doing though and was wandering around aimlessly for quite a while. I'll try and sink a bit more time in this week and see where I get to.

I highly recommend making the effort, even if its just for a sight-seeing visit.

Well reinstalled it over the weekend, Logged in, went through the charaxcter tutorial and then departed to Naboo, Theed.

The place was empty also no background music :(

Blue Frogs with equipment but tbh it took all of 5 mins before I was bored and logged out.

Te really need to get those Mission terminals working along with adding hte Star Wars Music back into game not to mention NPC's. The canteena in Theed was empty, yeah there was a player who was leveling Dancing but there were no NPCs :(

That was the original problem with SWG, no questing just missions from terminals.

I might give it another tyr this week.

Which sever where you on?
Baliska server has 2500 players usually and the cantina at mos eisely on tattooing is always busy and when Americans are on line is packed.

Mission terminals do work.

Questing in swg was do it yourself, get a group and go kraut dragon hunting, or the hundreds of other big "missions"

Solo grouping. You get a big group of you, and then go out to solo mission run. You get all the benefit of being in a big group(harder missions/more exp) and you dont have to share anything. Great for a TKA + MD :p

Ahh do you remember when you used to team up with people and one of them set up a little campfire and we would chill and get healed up for a little while :p

Yes that was me, for a bit.

Had lots of proffesions until I had to narrow it down due to lack of points.

This thread is actually making want to login to the server tonight. I login randomly, usually with epic gaps inbetween logins, just so I can appreciate the changes from the previous login :)

I think I'll wait until the full release still... I don't see the point in playing if the blue frogs are still there ready to give you anything you want :p

I remember a place of much derision on Farstar that was born of this behaviour. Sharnaff City just out side Coronet. Named for the creature of choice to pick from the mission terminals to level up; with maybe a side of Dark Troopers if you came upon any :D
