Just looking at the medal table and USA have 35 golds so far. 16 of those have come from the swimming. Without that, they'd be way down the table.

on the 10K open swim dq of Jack Burnell, subsequently heard on today 2'36"
that 2 yellow cards were for contact with Russian at one of bouy turns and then a clenched fist near end - but nonetheless the judges do not seem to have to provide any video proof , maybe they change the rules next time ?

Some of the US papers today are superb, they are absolutely tearing Lochte to pieces, his public image is being utterly destroyed. Even better is the hindsight replay of the interview he gave to an NBC reporter about the "robbery" where he even makes himself out to be a bit of a hero!

Deservedly so! What a total db! And to make it worse, he ran home to mommy.

Any chance he had to make a buck off endorsements is completely gone now. No one will touch him.
