Swine Flu Immunisation

So if you had cancer you wouldn't have Chemotherapy? All treatments are deadly in the wrong dose. Alcohol is toxic, do you drink?

Chemo would be after I am already ill, its like saying will you have chemo now before you get cancer. However I see your point.

I just dont think that there is enough information out there or research into the long term effects of squalene and mercury. The negatives cannot be ignored and just dismissed as tin hat talk. But for me, i'll pass on the jab, and let everyone make their own mind up.

The first link was unfortunate but a coincidence. The jab cannot give you swine flu.

I'd also like to mention that TamiFlu has a lot worse side affects than the vaccine.

Given how a vaccination works, there is every possibility the jab *could* give you swine flu.

It's more common than you think

There are 3 different types of this jab because of allergic reactions for some people. The most common one has egg in.

I had this jab a few weeks ago, most people had reactions but it was nothing big.

well i phoned up the doctor and confirmed that im going to have the jab. took some details off me to confirm.....now ive got to wait for a call back :S

You can get it, but it's hardly common at 1/~80,000 illnesses per influenza jab (a 'most recent' figure from 2008, data provided by academic institution).

What are the at risk groups anyway and what ages?

Basically, if you are in any particular group which makes you vulnerable regardless - the elderly, the immunodeficient, or have any other long term illnesses. Regardless, flu is not particularly pleasant for anybody.

Priority groups

The Department of Health said at risk groups will be given priority in the following order:

* People aged over six months and under 65 years in current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups
* All pregnant women
* Household contacts of people with compromised immune systems
* People aged 65 and over in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups.

From http://www.gm.tv/lifestyle/health/s...ice/40122-swine-flu-vaccine-drive-starts.html

My letter is a bit more detailed than that but CBA to type it out. Im going on Satuday for it so hope all is well :)

Certainly round the West Mids if you ask your Doctor for it most are saying hell yeah pop over and we'll stick you with it, irrespective of whether you're in at risk groups or not.

Ill take mine when David Icke takes his, Or the doctors can promise me that it will be administered by the Queen :)

No it's not. It's physically impossible for a flu jab to give you flu directly.

There is supposedly the theoretical possibility of rogue viral components making their way into the vaccine (something which has been clamped down upon in the manufacturing process) which might lead to an infection, but yes, most cases of this are assumed to have arisen from the individual catching the disease several days before the vaccination, so virulence begins before immunity can be acquired.

GF had it (works at hospital and has long term stuff) and she's been fine. you're not going to die from it.
I've had the seasonal and the worst that I can say for it was it was tender for a little while

Personally I'd say no if it were offered to me - but that's a personal choice. I'd never recommend either way for any body else. I just don't need it. :)
