It will be fine if you stick with your gtx 460.
One last thing. Stick an aftermarket cooler on the i5. One of these will do the job nicely;

Be careful if you order ram with big heat spreaders though, as the above big coolers can often encroach on the first ram slot.

you can quite easily get an I5 2500k, 8GB RAM and a new Mobo for your budget.
The best I can see for small size heatsinks here on the OCUK website is this;

I hadn't thought of that, and I have two...
I've often used memory that wasn't on the tested list of a mobo manufacturer, without ill effect.... You could take a chance.
