A quick look at the camera price comparison site is indicating a Canon 5DmkII is £1699, and a Nikon D700 is £1705. Not really enough to warrant switching systems imo, but if you haven't got any current pro-glass I guess it doesn't matter too much, and arguably you get a better spec. with the 5DmkII.
Personally, I can't get on with the Canon controls, they seem so clumsy and non-intuitive. Then again, my Canon chums say the same thing about my Nikon
