Symbian 3 + Nokia N8 = WOW!

Straightup...the browser is alright but compared to the android 2.2 one, its sucks. Opera mobile 10.1 beta 2 does a decent job though

There is a new browser and portrait keyboard(that doesnt cover the whole screen!) due soon. A video of it was leaked some days ago but was pulled by Nokia. Hopefully they are released before I get mine

on another note How Awesome would this phone be on Android

Get it done Nokia !

yeah i have changed my view of this phone fully since i started this thread :P and I completely agree that this phone with android or W7 would be great but symbian 3 really doesn't do it for me.

Quick question, as I can't be bothered to make a thread just for this.

How much is an N8 worth? Used, but only to see what it's like, no scratches, completely mint, boxed etc?

Considering you can buy it brand new for around £300-320, I'd say £250 tops.

Certainly! The software is absolutely terrible though, so only buy it if you NEED a good camera as it is very decent.

I have had a play and its not that terrible, it is just very symbian which compared to the competition is er well er er er oh I suppose terrible :(

Really depends what you need from the phone. It is still a big big step up from boggo standard non smart phones like the Samsung Monte and regular SE's, LG's etc.

Had this come out 2-3 years ago it would have been the phone to have with the techies. I suspect a lot of regular people will be quite happy with it especially for the build quality media player, free sat nav and camera. Also comes in cheaply on deals seemingly well below costs of the DHD, IP4 etc.

OcUK never really provides a representative sample of opinion on these sorts of products.

Yeah, I had a play in o2 when buying the HD7. Great build quality/design as usual but symbian 3 is just a terrible UI. No wonder is was consigned to the back of the shop with all those fancy WP7/iPhone/Android handsets around.

The price has already dropped to £300 on most sites, surely that's a good indication of general opinion.

This can't come soon enough for Nokia...
