I have one of these turning up this week, strange question though - for anyone that has one, is it strong enough to support a 27" monitor? I'm running out of space on my desk and at the moment this is the only way to accommodate it.

You can't connect a monitor to them..

You access it via your web browser.

    Ah right.

Wall mount the screen with ergotron lx wall mount.

Keep NAS in another room, hard drives are too loud to have in the fans room as people.

I wouldn't want to stand a screen on a NAS..

Had an ergotron long ago...if I didn’t take my monitor to LANs I’d probably get one. May be if I stop at some point/get another screen. I’ll be keeping the NAS in the office as I use headphones anyway. Cheers :)

Only thing now, I bought 2*8gb crucial stocks of ram but cancelled it. Will decide later this week...also went for the 10tb ironwolf - you seemed to be on the same track as me with SHR so I’ll use that and gradually fill it out with 10s

Is this worth the extra over the ds418play/+ or even the ds218play/+ for your avaerage/newbie nas user?

Yes, it’s strong enough. Pretty quiet too.
