Synology without a Disk Group

Hello I have a DS1515+ which has 2 x 3TB reds and 2 x 6TB reds in SHR1 mode.

I plan to add another 6TB to the unit but have heard of an issue when the volume is expanded past 12TB without it being on its own disk group.

Unfortunately I didn't set up a disk group for these drives when I initially setup the unit due to being a novice with Synology.

What are my options?

It's only an issue with 32bit CPUs.

The 416 says '16TB max volume size'
