Poll: Syrian Chemical Weapon Attack

Would you support a military strike on Syria without a UN Security Council resolution?

Still not confirmed that it is chemical weapons, or that the government released it... Considering the rebels are falling back and currently the government have the upper hand it would be rather stupid for them go use chemical weapons at this point.

Edit: in fact it would be suicidal and monumentally stupid of them to use them at the moment. On the other hand the rebels, if they had access to anyof it (easilly possible), could easily use it strategically and blame it on the government to use as a polarising event to tip the balance (especially as the west are so anti regime already).

If I were trying to topple the syrian government and I were a crazy power mad wanna be dictator then
  1. I would launch a gas attack on my own rebels and blame it on the government.
  2. get nato and everyone to help put me in power
  3. profit

I think we should wait for proper evidence but people start screaming nuke them now you know terrorist groups are also fighting over there and they will do anything

BTW if you google there's even fake Syria tactical nuke videos doing the rounds...

massive explosion , huge fireball oddly enough it doesn't light up the sky or reflect light onto the buildings.

don't believe all the BS you hear about wars

They are still unconfirmed reports and as others have said, the government had seemed to be gaining the upper hand and it would be stupid of them to start using chemical weapons as that opens the door to outside intervention.

Why would Assad use chemical weapons on the state controlled capital? Great excuse for a war though eh.

It's not the capital, it's a few villages outside it where they are mopping up the last rebels in the area. No reason to use chemical weapons at all, especially as the government know the repercussions if they did.

Expect the UK and US to state they have concrete evidence the governmentwere behind it, even when the rest of the world state it wasn't or that there is no evidence either way...

The UN are doing something about it. There is a summit on it today. We don't know if it was a chemical attack or who launched it so any actual action now would be completely unjustified.

That might not be too far from the truth.

I cant believe that this is legit and would await confirmation, which is unlikely to ever be clear cut either.

I suspect either side could have done it to further their own gains.

Poor Syrians is all i can say :(

Hmmm. That reminds of the last Hunger Games book. Very possibly what did happen :(

As others have said, the cynic in me can't help but think this is unlikely. Assad has been gaining ground recently, madness to use chemical weapons at this point. The whole thing has gone quiet because the media have been distracted by other things, then suddenly this.......

Scary sruff indeed but I do question what Assad would have to gain in the long term by using chemical weapons against the retreating rebels? Obviously it could just be a renegade general whose had a rush of blood to the head. I'm sure the ever useful and helpful UN will find a reason not to intervene. Oh, and did somebody mention a red line a while back?

if assad was going to use chemical weapons he might as well have just used the tactical nukes Russia gave him because it's just as suicidal I doubt anyone in power is that dumb unless they are losing heavily anyway which he really isn't.

check this anyone else think it's clearly a fake explosion :D
lol rebel scum trying to say an ammo dump was a nuke
