System Configurator

Thanks for your comments - a few errors that we need to correct.

Please let me know anything else that you find

Cheers

On the Ultima OC 8800 GT Intel System the listed mobo is the Abit IP35 Pro Intel Chipset Motherboard, but the link takes you to the OcUK Value IP35 Pro Intel P35 (Socket 775)PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. Can you confirm which is correct please?

Hi,

I sent an email to the pre sales email address before realising there was a thread about the changes, doh.

Anyway, there is a pricing error on one of your systems. The Ultima Extreme SLi 8800 GTX is priced at £432.36 inc VAT. Looks like it could be £1432.36 inc VAT?

Anyway thought I'd chime in and let you know. I like the way you are going with the configurator, I'm in the market for a new PC so I might just test it out.

Thanks for your note.

You are right, the system you speak of has been removed from sale.

I will ask one of our Product Specialists to review this and correct

Thanks for your observation! :)

Overall, good idea.

Glad you got rid of the 'charge for overclocking' option. In the same way, are you sure charging an extra £10 for RAID 0 or 1 configuration is a good idea? Also the pic seems to suggest that you would get a seperate RAID controller, which I assume isn't the case.

Otherwise good :)

Have to agree with the picture of the item you are actually selecting. Surely it would'nt be that hard to get a little piccy up when you hover the cursor over the selection. Especially relevant with the memory choices as they all show Geil Ultra boxes.

A selection of motherboards would be good too on the Gamer and Overclocked versions.

How about a choice of no Floppy along with a reduction. The floppy is dead these days, with some bios's being around 2mb in size. USB stick is the way to go.

Good idea though and prices are'nt too bad.

Found another issue. It says free next day delivery on the summary part, but if you add a system to your shopping basket it adds a delivery charge.
I'm desperate to place an order having been without a decent PC for a couple of weeks so hopefully you can sort it out quickly.

Sorry but that was a design left-over, it was and is being discussed but no decision has been taken yet.

As a thank you for pointing it out though I've added a credit to your account to cover the shipping.

Thanks.

Saves a lot of heartbreak and tears when the system you put together won't work and you can't figure out why...
That's why I have gone for a system which is guaranteed to work out of the box this time, rather than saving a few pounds building one myself.

Do e actually save any money doing it this way? Hardly worth it if we don't.

Maybe, maybe not - but that isn't the idea. If the standard systems meet your needs go for that - but if you think you'd like an extra hard drive, or you want a faster cpu or you want to cut back on the cpu to get a faster graphics card you can do it.

There's not much point in buying a fully built and tested system if you then have to add things yourself - this way you ensure it's tested as you want it, reducing the risk of you having any problems yourself.

That is my exact setup, purchased all seperately from OCuk before this promotion started. I must have good taste :p
