System for next 5 years +

I trust that isn't a sandy bridge i7 as you should be running at 4.7ghz with that voltage!

Further more you don't need that much cooling, sandy bridges are quite cool. Stick to air, water is a needless complication and takes up space in the case.

No no, I have a lousy I7 920 :(

I dont think 1866MHZ ram is going to cut it, seriously consider some 2133MHZ stuff.

He picked an 8 Gb set though, and ram speed makes no difference in video games, only in bandwidth benchmarks.

I'd also consider the corsair 650d and drop the psu down to the corsair TX 950w it's cheaper and still more than enough and allows you to get what is (imo) one of the nicest cases out at the moment (I have one, it's briliant). However sli haf x would be better suited to cooling it. So your choice.

Either way if you're ok with cable management get the 950w TX.

:EDIT:

Don't get a sound card unless you have decent speakers.

Bigdave you've just saved me £50 with that psu downgrade.

As for speakers well the one and only: Logitech z 5500 5.1 . Will on board sound be good enough to appreciate beauty of those speakers?

Am sticking with half x as will probably now get Noctua NH-D14 CPU which is huge and needs massive case...

And OP, you might want a normal HDD too, 240GB isnt much.

Also have you thought about getting a 3.5" sized SSD? their bigger and faster!!!! you fit more data in a 3.5" SSD compared to a 2.5" one of the same capacity.

Surround sound are not good quality speakers ;). Decent 2.1 set is really what you want. Acoustic energy ageo M 2.1 are great speakers. Used to be the best in the £200 price bracket when I got them years ago.

The thermalright frio is one of the best coolers around considering its price. Got one cooling a 2500k atm even when overclocked to 4.5ghz and both fans turned to low it will still keep it under 60 degrees at full load. You don't need more than that so why pay more? Do bare in mind though that it covers ram slots and that so i migth suggest one of the newer thermalright ones instead. Extreamly tall heat sinks are a pain to work around.

The 950w TX is a great psu, just remeber it's non-modular unlike the HX.

Dont know where you got your info from but its 8.87%;)

LIAR! Screenshot or it didn't happen!

wow really, no difference faster mem in games? Then which mem would best suite my needs please? thanks

1600 is more than enough.

This kit is really good at the current price, Cas 8 4Gb modules are great and usually OC up to 1866+ Mhz at Cas 9.

These are even better:

Cas 7 @ 1600 Mhz should be able to push up to and over 2000 Mhz @ Cas 9.

Yes I would but is the fastest thing in the shops. Right?

OCZ Vertex 3 240GB 2.5" SATA-3 Solid State Hard Drive (VTX3-25SAT3-240G)
Read Speed: 550MB/Sec, Write Speed: 525MB/Sec,

Independent test have shown that the extra 0.01% improvement comes with spending more money.

You realise that these speeds don't mean ****?

If you can tell the difference between SSD's without benchmarks you must be superhuman. You open a document instantly with a "slow" ssd. So a fast one opens it "instantly -1" instead woop! (+1 would in fact make it slower before anyone trys to get smart)

SSD's don't have a big enough storage to warrant needing super fast transfer rates because you will never transfer large files so it will still be an extreamly short waiting time anyway. Just paying through the nose for benchmarks is stupid.

LOLOLOL!!!

:D

Its best to just stick to 1600 Mhz sticks, and get ones with the lowest timings you can afford.

The only high MHZ ram I'd recommend is the 2x2 Gb G Skill set thats only £50 for 2133 Mhz. For 8 Gb kits, the Cas 8 or Cas 7 G Skill sticks are great.

How about adding some delta fans? the extra airflow will help push the data through the pc at faster speeds giving you more FPS.

its the same principle as a Turbo on a car engine! more airflow = more performance.

Hahaha, how humorous. I beleive it's best to have them in a "push" set up rather than "pull" as pull just creates negative data inside the case where as push creates positive data ;)

Guess who bought a Delta fan as their first ever PC fan purchase because they thought moar RPM and moar CFM = leet?

....

:(
