Hi all,

I received one of the new Seagate Hybrid drives today, i created a Win7 64bit drive image, when i try to load the image onto the new drive it tells me the drive is too small. The used space on the old drive is about 121gig and the new hybrid drive being 500gig, so there is more than anough space. it's a fairly new install of Win7 so i don't want the hassle of re-intalling everything, so is there a work around that any one knows of?

What was the capacity of the old disk?

The drive you're restoring the image to needs to be the same size or larger than the disk the image was made from.

I presume you created a repair disk when you imaged the drive and that you're booting from this.

Well in the end i tried everything, i even shrunk the partition size so it was smaller that the drive i was trying to restore, but nothing seemed to work. In the end i bit the bullet and did a new installed on the hybrid drive,

It's impressive how they work, i use CS5 and Lightroom a lot and it soon picks this up and runs these programs fast, clever stuff.
