Hi guys

Recentley i had a mail from nvidia stating the new drivers were out for downloading so yeah i went ahead and downloaded them.
Now when the installation is complete i get a message saying "This system has not been modified" since this has happend my Geforce 9800 Gx2 (vista64) has disapered from my display settings,i cant run games at all as it says it failed to find a suitable video card.
Ive spent hours searching online in forums for answers and ive pretty much tried them all Ie.

Changing regional settings
Running driver cleaner
Tried installing in safe mode
Tried running as admin
Used windows update to try install them and no luck
Tried deleting from device managed and refreshing to find drivers still no luck

None of these work at all and now i my restore points have disapeared too so i cant even do that i am totaly baffeld in what to do ive never even attempted a reformat since im not to sure on how to do it.....Any advice would be great thank you

ok try going to safe mode, and uninstalling drivers.

restart normal windows should now detect video card and reinstall new drivers.

also make sure the drivers you downloaded are not corrupt, but does sound like a driver issue.

Maybe run a driver cleaner program mate in safemode after you have uninstalled the drivers. This gets rid of any lingering files and that way you know your installing fresh ones.

Ok i ran the driver cleaner in safe mode and also ran nvidia uninstall, restarted the comp and tried to update the driver through windows update yet it still failed this is really getting anoying,so many people have had the same prob i dont get it

It does the same thing with any type of driver i use

so did it do this with the original drivers installed?

ok try this

1 safe mode
2 Uninstall drivers completely also using cleaner.
3 goto C:/ prompt and delete Nvidia file in safe mode.
4 Restart Windows do not install drivers
5 Load drivers that came with gpu it should be a cd rom that came with graphics card

Ok tried doing that and still the same thing i really dont understand this at all it now comes up with the hardware with the little yellow triangle on the follwing unidenified items

Ide controller
Vga Display
Nvidia 9800 Gx2

Driver Sweepers probably hosed yer Windows (as its known for it) by removing stuff it shouldn't, or leaving stuff behind, so only way to get any drivers back on is a full reinstall of Windows.

this may sound dumb but how do i do a full re-install of windows never done it before

it says the following anyway Windows found a driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

Nvidia Geforce 9800Gx2

Access is denied
