T-mobile Pulse - Android touch phone.

A little niggle with Android - I had my O2 number ported over today, and it all seems to be working fine. However, in the Phone Status menu, it is still displaying the original T-Mo number as "My Number".

Is this normal? If not, how do I get it to display the actual number?

Cheers,

Su

On my Milestone this never changed. :(

Woooohooooo may have my mitts on one of these come Thursday :D It's unlikely to be one of the new shiny ones with lots of memory as I understand it's lain in a drawer unused for some time.

Being as I'm on T-Mob anyway I presume I can simply hook it up and suck down an official 2.1 update?

Can I update to the UK release of 2.1 if I have already installed the Hungarian 2.1 release?

You should be able to. I went from the FLB mod on modaco based on hungarian to the swedish one and then the english one.

Sara - you'll have to download the 2.1 update from http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile-pulse-pulse-modaco-com/315278/android-2-1-t-mo-uk-update/ as you can't get an update over the air. Although i'd recommend the FLB mod rather than the proper 2.1 update.

got one of these this morning, about to have a play, £99.99+£10 top up and £5 quidco, will see what its like for £105

I'd like to keep it official to begin with if I can - or is there something seriously up with the 2.1 update on the T-Mobile site (thought I saw somewhere that it had been released)?

EDIT: Oh, the modaco link you posted really is just a thread with a link to the official T Mobile page I'd already found - confusing! But it seems there are now less updates there than there should be - so T-Mob have pulled it for some reason?

EDIT2: Aha, found the ultimate guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/t...o-com/311809/the-ultimate-pulse-owners-guide/ seems plenty of SMS troubles at the moment, maybe I should wait a while :)

Well it seems T Mob have pulled the already released 2.1 update and are working to get it back out again come October. We'll see.

Until then aye I suppose I could try a different ROM but I'm only picking this up temporarily to see how I get on with Android in general before I dive into the world of BlackBerry.

Just updated the girlfriends phone to FLB 1.5 with ADW. Changed the rather conservative 128mb .ext2 partition that I set last time up to 384mb too while I was at it. Should be plenty for app's now! :) . Getting close to actually giving her the phone now.. 2nd Sept. I've done more modding on this phone than my own! (N1).

Looking to get this phone, Is this the andriod phone to get around the £100 Mark?

Also are there any repeating faults?

I've heard about a new one from Orange, not sure if it's out yet but apparently it has a better spec than the Pulse. May be worth checking that out.

The Pulse though, the only repeating fault I have is it occasionally crashes and requires the battery to be taken out to restart it...although mines been better recently. A few weeks ago it was almost a daily recurrence.

Cheers for the reply's guys.

That new orange phone does look, would I be able to put a T-mobile sim in it?
