did you watch some youtube videos? atch fair few the most seem to go with the following:
trowel it out across the top to start with, then trowel a little down the side. use a paint brush to coat the side with the drippings.
Then use paint brush to stipple the top.
Then use blow torch to bubbles and repeat another 2 times about 5 mins apart.
when it goes tacky run something along the bottom of the edge to remove any beading/drips.
probably be a bit of a pain sanding it down, but put the effort in, you'll get there and then you can appreciate more than buying cheap tat.
edit - heres one, also seen them do the stippling on clear and they said it helped remove any lines from the trowel
would love to do a picknic table with the rotten wood, where they fill the rotten bits in with glow in the dark resin. But don't own a house yet so pointless. or the ones where they burn it with electricity that is also cool.
whilst searching for the images someones carved out a globe map in a table and then done the resin for the oceans, that's pretty cool as well.
