Tabletop Warhammer?

My Crux Terminatus box is coming tomorrow but I thought they weren't due for release until Nov something. Not that I'm complaining.

I'm always nervous about weathering because I might ruin the model. I've done some light weathering here and I think it looks okay but I'm still undecided if I prefer that or just the clean edge highlighted look.

Crux Terminatus box assembled, I think I'm a really slow assembler because this must have taken me 12 hours or more to do.
I don't think I'm going to assemble the ancient in Terminator armour because it's got a stupid ultramarine flag, I could get a different one but after looking at what bonuses he provides in game I'm not too fussed.

I suppose technically I haven't finished because I've got to scrape all of the mould lines off the heads. Can't wait..

 
Death Guard CP box didn't restock with any retailers this week. Looks like GW have it on the webstore, so hopefully next week.

Mmmm, mould lines, haven't missed them. I will wear my magnifying headset when I deal with them or details will be missing.
 
RM have my DG stuff and were expecting to deliver it in our usual afternoon window. Looked at the tracking and it looks like it didn't go out on the van. So hopefully tomorrow. RM app isn't even providing notifications and my phone keeps telling it is crashing in the background. Whole service is being run by heretics :p.

Edit for update - turns out and their tracking was way out. It updated at 8pm yesterday to say it had only just got to the regional distribution centre. Local depot now have it, so might arrive today #firstworldproblems.

Got the Tallyman cut off the sprues and mould lines cleaned up. Didn't think there were any to worry about until I put on my reading glasses and magnifiers then got a decent light on it :cry:.

Will glue most of him tomorrow and see if my Humbrol sprue glue is any good. Got some Tamiya Extra Thin but don't want to sprue that unless necessary and I can pick up another one.

Will try and prep some more when the family have settled off to sleep.

Isn't the banner that comes with the ancient a generic one so you can put your own chapter decals onto it?
I would bet that would look brilliant with Imperial Fists iconography all over it.

Oh yeah I guess it is but it's all embossed so can only get a logo in the middle of the cross thing.
I always thought the laurels? were an UM thing but I see there are some on one or two of the IF shoulder decals.

The better flag comes with the primaris ancient in Terminator armour (2nd pic), whereas the one in my kit is just the regular ancient. I could just get a flag I prefer. I mean the model is basically just a regular Terminator with a slightly different Aquila and a bit of a cloak.

I could also try sanding the whole thing and seeing what I can whip up with spare bits and decals.

That was quite enjoyable but ridiculous lol, it's like a kid who grew up with 40K doing a creative writing assignment, albeit not a particularity good one. Still, kept me painting for an hour.
It was like wakes up, undoes all 40k lore, makes it a xeno hugfest "lets work together guys"

Yeah, some artistic licence being given in the story line :D
 
Morning Warhammer peeps. Would anyone with a copy of the latest White Dwarf and absolutely no interest in the mobile game mind looking out the Tacticus character code if poss please? I don't need Incisus but have some in our clan who'd benefit from it.

My son is getting some models for Christmas so am getting into this again vicariously.

I looked in my promotional emails to see if I had any, and I saw I had 25% off the collectors edition of the upcoming Dark Heresy game.
So now I've just spent more that I ever have in my life on a game, thanks for that :p
