Take a peek at this for me? :)

nah i liked the monitor :P size doesn't matter, a little over budget though xD my dad didn't like the idea of the current budget as it was :p

buchanan, mind if i added you? it's getting a bit late, But ill be back on tomorrow, Can't make these kind of decisions lightly :p

Of course not. It's not something you add... you just enable your trust by clicking it under any of your posts... bottom right hand corner.

If you want to get it down to £750. Drop the case to a £30 one... lose the dvd drive. That saves you £35 or so.

Is there nothing in your old computer you could salvage? Hard drive? Dvd drive?

Sorted then. Well... I've given you plenty to think about. I don't think you will get much better for £750... especially when a monitor and an OS has to be included.

However... I'm usually wrong! So...

certainly have given me some ideas :p I think i know what i want.. but we shall see how I feel tomorrow :) thanks a lot, I think I'll run my final decision by you, juuuust to make sure everything is in order.

thanks again, good night

guess forgot the psu, had decided on it tho

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-118-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

I started listing it before anyone had posted a spec then when I hit submit yours appeared(plus a load of other posts that weren't there when I started typing :)

I guess we disagree on the psu, otherwise great minds and all that jazz :)

Haha... indeed. It's not that I disagree on the PSU. I would have the Antec any day of the week over the Bequiet. However... as you can see, he is already way overbudget with what I suggested. The Antec isn't going to help things.

lol 16 and worried about VAT receipts?
Just ask your dad for a £1000 system and be done with it.
Tell him it will last you 5 years then he can write it off through his company for £200 a year (easily hidden lol)

You can get the cooler for later really. That's £25 quids saved. Bit of room for say, a better screen, better PSU. Or bits and bobs like the Corsair XMS3 (nobody seems to like the kingston I don't know why), a 1TB drive in the bundle, ...

Looks good to me. Get this :)

It will be a pain to strip it all out later when you add a cooler and decide to overclock properly. However, I'm sure it will be worth it.

I also agree. Add another tenner or so and up the PSU to something a bit beefier.

P.S. Kingston RAM sucks :p

You should not need to strip it out. IIRC that case has a motherboard tray cutout for the CPU cooler backplate.

antech psu for the extra £8?

I suppose the Antec TP-550 would be a good bet, but this PSU don't look too bad and should do the job. The TP-550 has steadily increased in price. To the point where you could maybe go for a Lepa 650W or a corsair TX.

I've got 8 gigs HyperX, and it's doing the job perfectly well. I suppose you can't go wrong with XMS3, as ever.

Those cutouts for the backplates really are a great idea :D. It's really fiddly though fitting one like that. I tried it and ended up taking the board out and doing it flat. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. To be fair it was a tricky cooler.

Why don't they make them all simple? I had an old Zalman cooler the other day. It was a simple bit of plastic for the backplate that stuck on with a bit of adhesive. Then you just simply put the cooler on top and put some screws in. So easy!
