Hi folks, someone asked me if I knew if there would be any repercussions from claiming they were driving the vehicle so they could take the points, but weren't driving it, never have, and aren't insured on it anyway.
It was a 40 in a 30 and the accused is now on 9 points and had already had a 40 in a 30 earlier that month, so was previously only on 3 months, the second fine was from an unfamiliar area where the accused was lost and had no idea of the area.
It's a company car and he's the only one insured or allowed to drive it, but someone has offered to take the points for him, since his livelihood relies on having a licence, as do most peoples.
So if someone was to claim they were driving the car to take the points, would they look into the insurance and whatnot to see if they're insured to drive it, then end up in court and charged for perverting the course of justice and whatever else they can charge you with.
So if anyone knows the procedure etc they go through in these situations, that'd be helpful so I can pass it on, cheers.
