Got to loathe all the people on their high horses on this forum.
because i'm not sympathetic to the guy and go on to a tirade of anti-blair/scamera crap?

sit down and have a word with yourself.
an experienced driver doesn't let the numpty behind him stress him out, make him angry or make him put his foot down.
covering the kind of mileage i do if i behaved like that everytime some fool hovered on my rear bumper then i'd probaby be on my way to my third heart attack.
being in an unfamiliar area, of course you're never going to be completely as fluid as you are on familiar ground, but i've never been in any doubt as to what the posted limit was.
there are ways of working it out other than signage you know.

as for the equine reference, i'm not on a high horse of any description, although you're friends ability is most definitely lame.

No, because I just asked for any infomation regarding the procedure and get people coming in the thread on their high horses making them self look perfect and just spamming the thread with ****.

There is no 'procedure' as you put it to pervert the course of justice, you just have to lie through your teeth.

As for perfect? Not not by a long shot, Better road driver than most? Definatly!!

oh i'm a long way from perfect, but i'm a lot closer to it than your friend.

it's been said a million times in here but if you really expect to get only positive responses to a thread then you're in the wrong forum.
if someone has been a fool, as your friend has, then people will get vocal in here about it.
some more than others granted, but vocal all the same.

I meant the procedure on what they check and go through if someone claims they were driving.

Which could possibly lead to a charge of perverting the course of justice if they find something to **** you with.

Although I think I've got all the advice I'm going to get now the thread has been derailed, cheers for everyone who's given relevant advice :)

incidentally, perverting the course of justice is a nasty offence.
the courts REALLY goto town on this one.
for the gamble to even look viable your friend must stand to lose a LOT!

personally i'd rather take the ban than risk showering with an ex pipe fitter called leroy.

Would it not be the person claiming they were driving that would get ****** over more though?

to be honest i'm not sure.
who told the bigger lie?
the person who wasn't driving but said they were or the person who WAS driving but said they were not.
as a legal layman, i'd guess the real driver as he not only lied, he commited the offence as well.
hmm, tough one.

In Scotland its generally a civillian in the vans. A traffic officer then reviews any 'incidents' from vans and static camera's etc and decides if a NIP or Prosecution is relevant. Obviously they check the sex of the driver against the picture to see if the given name would match. If Miss so and so was driving but the picture shows a Sikh with beard its likely to prove a tad suspicous, if the picture is clear enough.

I beleive its a similar case in England and Wales but the Welsh are a strange lot ;)

They only find something if theres something to find.

Also just so you know, and I could be wrong, but helping somebody to pervert the course of justice is also an offence is it not? So I would be very careful in your advice to your 'Friend'.

Do they not see it as the worst one is the driver in this case as he also encouraged somebody else to break the law?

Although as an alternative example receiving stolen goods is often seen as the larger crime as if there were no buyers then there would be not theives etc.

Best bet is not to risk it.

i'd say the real driver would be the worse of the two as he was trying to evade punishment (something the courts HATE).
he also would gain from this crime as he would avoid disqualification and also avoid losing his job.
