Taking pictures of food in posh restuarants

I don't tend to do it, find it a bit odd, but some people like doing it. I seem to remember someone on here getting a right roasting for doing it a few years ago :p

Dude, you're dead meat if she reads this :p

She knows she's the boss. :p I'd be dead meat if I didn't say that! Besides, she'd be able to take a picture of said dead meat ;)

One thing is for sure - if you take a big camera with you, the staff are going to make a note of it, not sure whether that's a good or bad thing. The GM of Next (Chicago) was saying on twitter that they might refer to table x "on a safari" :)

only asshats look down their noses at people and think they are better than everyone else.

I don't do it even though I want to.

I guess if you are then discreetness is the key, no flash etc as mentioned.

If you're talking about the staff then I agree, since waiting staff looking down on people is funny since they're basically servants. However I look down on people that take photos at posh restaurants if I'm a customer, sorry :D.

Bit pathetic really, I mean what are you going to do with the photos, show them off to all your friends saying "look how exquisite the food is LOOK"

It would drastically help me to remover what it is and how it's constructed.
And yes, a bit of show off and also show people on the forum what the place is like, in the where did you eat thread.

I don't think it's pathetic or chavvy, it's nice to remember a good experience. However I agree that as long as it's done discreetly i.e. no flash is best.

I think it's worse that you don't capture any memories of good times together. We have the technology these days - why waste it? :) I like to see a timeline of my life in pictures. The occasional cringe photo is worth it in the long run. :)

|This will really knark some of you off - I even tag myself in michelin star restaurants- LOOK AT ME I'M ****ING WELL POSH INNIT! :D :D :D

If anyone asks just say you're a 'food blogger'. You've paid a lot of money for a good meal, if anyone sticks their snout into your business tell 'em to gtfo! :p
