I'd play it, but I wouldn't say it's essential. I've a feeling that it's story may have been ignored as far as the gap between MI3, and ToMI goes.

MI4s story really didn't fit at all with me, so I'm glad they appear to have ignored it.

2.1gb download?! What's so different in the PC version compared with the 500mb Xbox one?

It supports more language. The Xbox versions are regionalised so you only download the files for your own region. :)

Im tempted to get this, i never any of the monkey island games. But one of my fond memories was watching my uncle play one of them when i was a kid. I remember seeing a part where there was a spitting competition and you had to fire the cannon. And when the bloke runs off to see what happened you played about with the flags to make the competion easier:p
Which monkey island was that?

Monkey Island II, on the harder difficulty. :)

Monkey Island 2 :)

Play them all before the latest, its gaming ecstasy.

I can't get away with the monkey island series :( The puzzles just seem silly, I mean I like Broken Sword, Full Throttle etc which is silly at times, but Monkey Island just seems completely illogical to me - ie mix the coconut with the goblet and the handkerchief to make a slingshot or other such nonsense :(

I've just dld the BS 2.5 fan version actually, so might have to replay them all :D Much prefer them tbh.

How is using a rubber chicken with a pully in the middle silly? :(

Not bothering buying the PC version now as its Steam only no other digital download services and I will never ever support Steam because of an ongoing dispute I have with them

Its slightly disappointing anyway as TBH Lucasarts did not put enough polish into this as the HD gfx in places are very dull & undetailed. I expected a bit more from them as most backgrounds are not animated at all or only in a minimal way. A lot of character animation lacks enough frames to be as smooth as it should be. There are also a few control bugs/quirks which require pixel perfect clicking.

Having completed this now I think it could have been done in Flash on the PC in a few weeks. Only the speech work shows major effort and the game is an exact 1:1 copy so that means it will take you very little time to complete on PC and no reason to return to it once you have as no unlockable extras on either PC or 360.

I think the game file size was limited by the Xbox Arcade size limit so the PC gets the same version.

You get a message at the end which says Guybrush Threepwood will return so that must mean they are already working on MI2 which is a lot bigger and better looking.

You are aware that this new game is mapped directly onto the original SCUMM code? They can only move the new game along in the exact number of frames/poses the old game took, hence the limitations around animation. :)

I thought the new graphics were great throughout, and whilst using a controller was a bit more fiddly, I didn't encounter any problems more than that. It's bound to be easier on a mouse though.

I'm not sure what you were expecting, it was advertised as a 1:1 copy with audio and visual upgrades long ago. As for extras, I'd wouldn't have minded a few bits of concept art or something, but I'm not that upset it's not there. :)

People will complete it in whatever time suits them, you would only speed through it if you knew exactly how to do it or you used a guide/the hints. I'm not sure how you can say people will spend very little time on it.

It's a very low price for what you get as well. :)

I'm not sure what you mean by this... The Xbox version is ~500mb whilst the PC is more than 2gb...

The PC has completely uncompressed audio and video, whereas the Xbox version has to follow the MS guidelines for compression.
