Talks continue to save Woolworths

Went in to Woolworths in Hemel Hempstead yesterday and it just looked like a jumble sale and a complete mess.

One of the staff stood at the front at 4pm shouting 'Sorry, the store has now closed' was quite funny too :D

Is that not just a reflection on Hemel though?
I had to head into Hemel centre to pickup some things last minute before Xmas. Debenhams had rented one of the empty stores in the Riverside part, which was totally unfurnished but full of racks and racks of sale items and security guards.

As I walked past it, they had a guy stood outside rapping about the Debenhams sale, it looked like he had just been drafted in from South Central LA. It was hilarious, wish Id had something to record it with.

My local one closed today.

Not that much on the shelves so I asked at the till - and walked out with lots....

Young Indiana Jones Volumes 1, 2 and 3 - DVD
Die Hard - Bluray
Die Hard 2 - Bluray
Die Hard 4.0 - Bluray
The Usual Suspects - Bluray
The Simpsons Movie - Bluray
Wall-E - Bluray
Band Of Brothers - Bluray
Transformers - Bluray
Hairspray - Bluray
The Sarah Connor Chronicles Series 1 - Bluray
Blade Runner Ultimate 5 disk set - Bluray
Iron Man - Bluray
Indiana Jones and the rape of the series - Bluray
The Pixar Shorts - Bluray
Batman Begins - Bluray
Terminator 2 - Bluray
The Godfather Remastered Trilogy - Bluray

Saved a substantial amount.

I didn't think to ask behind the counter. Might send my girlfriend in to another store on closing day to buy a packet of maltesers and then just ask at the till for all their bluray and wii games.

One chap did that just after me.

Asked if there was any sealed bly-ray and xbox360 games still - till girl said yes, chap said - "I'll take them"

Ended up with probably around 4 baskets full of blu-rays and xbox360 games. About 5 copies of Transformers and god knows what else.

On the last day it's 80% off. With a couple of hours to go it goes up to 90% off and then in the last few minutes it get silly - 5p CDs, fill your basket for £5 - that sort of thing.
