Tattoo Advice...

On a similar note im thinking of getting one in the middle of my chest, Is that gonna hurt more or less than on the arms?

Stuff like this is hard to say, really. I have work on my collarbones, and on both forearms... I couldn't really say which was worse, they were both a piece of cake. My right forearm wasn't too fun, but it was a 4 1/2 hour sitting, so it's understandable. Chest/collarbones only took about two hours, if that, and it was perfectly bearable, as were the stars on my inner left forearm. It's only that the other arm was a fairly long sitting it started to get really uncomfortable. I'm a bit of a poof anyway.

Ahh my pain threshold is prity low but Im a man lol! Im gonna get it done in the next few weeks anyhow!

Just do it, it only lasts a while. I've got 6 now, and two of my sessions have been 4 1/2 each, one on my back, one on my forearm (that was two tattoos at once) and by the end of them I get pretty fed up, but soon as it's stopped everything's fine.

The only real danger is that you cant see what the tattooist is doing and they might take a dislike to you and draw a large, indelible, "excited", cartoon knob on your back.

But then again, better than some incomprehensible foreign words. ;)
 


Thats what im getting after i go to download. On my left sholder blade :eek:

I'm really not looking forward to getting it done, mainly because I wanna know how much it hurts lol!

Usual dangers apply if you have any medical conditions which may cause a concern; get your GP to give you the okay before you do it.

Find a good, reputable artist, ask them to explain how they work, what cleanliness precautions they take, how they prepare sterile fields and so on. Ask to see their spore test results for their autoclave.

Importantly - ask to see a wide-ranging portfolio of HEALED work.

And, most importantly, get something you are comfortable with for the rest of your life.

And I want to stress the looking at the portfolio of healed work - I've been into a few tattooists and asked to see their pictures folder and been given a book of flash :rolleyes: Anybody can buy flash so don't look at it as a sign of their work standards

Jhadur said the same thing - arm was painless, back was painful *shrugs*

Most painful of mine was on my stomach esp going around the navel. The top was wierd as the gun was vibrating at a different pace to my heart beat - felt strange.
My lower back one surprised me - I though the spinal bits would hurt the most but they tickled as I could feel my neck vibrating :o
 
I only have one tattoo, got it in May 2005 but it really did hurt like buggery. My mate told me that the upper back does hurt quite a bit before hand though...

I'd only ever say regarding tattoo's, get something you like or that has some meaning.

that sounds a good tattoo, but to be honest the back is a big space, if i was you i would make it bigger, ask anybody who has tattoos and they will say the same, a good reason for this is once you have had 1 tattoo you will want another, don't ask me why it,s just how it happens...

and like i said the back is a big space, so fill it to save haveing anothe 1 on your back.... thats my advice

tattooist's believe it or not are really nice bloke, they might seem harsh but so would you if you had to do tattoo's every day, when you are there talk to them they are human, plus you can have some right fun with some of the stories they have, they have seen it all....
