I have been thinking long and hard about this..as i rightly should..and i'd like people's opinions of a tattoo i am considering.

Inspired by someone who posted here actually who had 3 stars down their spine...

So it would be on my back about 1/3 of the way up and i am considering maybe having another 2 beneath but getting smaller and smaller...if that makes sense?

So perhaps like the one below but slightly bigger..thinking around 10cm x 10cm.

Reason for the tattoo...i know some people are traditional in why they have ink all over themselves, a meaning perhaps but i have been thinking about this for a while and i love the design..i see it everyday to get used to the idea and i believe it's the one for me...and yes i am aware stars are quite common..

So what can i expect? Will it heal quite quickly? Or does it depend from person to person?

On her shoulder, three of them. One is probably half the size of the ones you've posted, then another is half that size going down in phases.

I dont think a single image looks quite right between the shoulder blades. It either has to be really big to cover them a bit (and most of your back) or maybe have a few stars.. or something. I know nothing about tattoos though, just saying what i see.

They way I see it, unless a tattoo has some sort of deeper meaning it will be just like a fashion accessory, one that you will get bored of in later years and possibly grow to hate.

If it has a meaning and a purpose, chances are that you will cherish it in later years.

I suggest you think long and hard about it before you get anything done. If you do go for it, make sure you post pics.

Mm..that's why i am tempted to stick with my first idea about 3 down the spine - 3 different sizes - large, medium and small.

Noted.

I've had the same 'idea' for around 2 months now..i see it everyday and picture myself with it. I went to a tattoo place to talk about it as well. :)

That tattoo looks ******* terrible.

The image of the girl/guy? Looks too small..and 'alone' so to speak with just the single star or just a
general opinion? :o

Thats what our lass has, though curling not in a straight line.

Looks ****, and thats on a girl. Would look even worse on a guy.

I had my first tattoo done a few months ago, a latin phrase. Has meaning to me and i love it.

I would just suggest you think about it a lot harder. As to me it seems meaningless, no offense intended, and like scuzi said it will be a fashion accessory. Get onto Body Modification Enzine and have a look at other designs.

Theres hundreds of thousands on there that might inspire you to get something different and unique. You could adapter one tattoo to suit you, or merge a few together. What ever you decided make sure you post pictures :)

If your set on getting stars, why not get something written under or in each one? a possible idea.

Sophie Howard has exactly that...

Alter it slightly to this:

And get

"In Soviet Russia, you are tattooed under the star."

under it.

My Mate has the Hammer and Sickle in a Star on his chest, caused him a bit of bother with his army application, He's going to be getting it filled over in black soon lol. That's what happens when you rush into a tattoo at 16 lol.

I'm not a big fan of stars myself, but if you've been thinking about it for a while then just go for it. I usually come up with a tattoo idea, If I still want it about 6 months later, I'll go for it. Usually found it a good cooling off time hence why I'm not covered in loads of designs.

I have two stars on my left wrist, they have meaning but I cannot be bothered to explain and I love them. Not regretted it what so ever.

If you're sure, go for it. Ignore what anyone else thinks about it.

My tattoo's dont really have much meaning to them as such, except for the time and place I got them, the designs them selfs are just a bit of fun.

The Barcode on the back of my neck was when I was at DefCon14 in vegas last year.

The Power Logo on my chest, got it done to remember the past year, and It was a design I wanted, so I just tied the two together lol.

Isn't that what homosexuals get done to indicate that they are indeed homosexual.
A queer at work has that tattoo and explained that it has become a symbol of homosexuality.

Going through BME still..800 pages to go through..around 300 down but i've found another idea...wouldn't be on the arm but i like how there are 3 different styles.
