Tattoo's at work

Hmmm i have a few guys and a lass that have tattoo's on their bodies, the lass has the usual one on the small of her back but she keeps it covered up all of the time whilst shes at work. Only times i have seen it was at our xmas party, where she wore the smallest pair of thongs i have ever seen with a pair of very low rider jeans lol:p. But my boss and i didnt complain in the slightest lol.

As for the guys who have tattoo's, doenst particularly bother me if they are on show or not...they arent customer facing so my clients and customers dont see them at all. My boardroom offices are across the hall from our main offices anyways...

That somewhat depends on the job. If I'm looking for a bricklayer or plumber, I really don't care if you're tattooed or not. If I'm looking for a consultant to work in a customer-facing role presenting to the board of banks or blue-chip companies, you aren't getting a job from me if you have overtly visible tattos or piercings (or rather, piercings beyond the norm, or subtle ones).

As I said above, I'd be perfectly understanding if I was turned down for a customer-facing role where my piercings would be likely offend some of the company's usual customer base. It might irk me a bit if I really wanted the job, but if I wanted it enough, I could just take the piercings out.

Having a tattooed neck/face/hands is just a very bad idea, employment wise, unless you're certain it won't affect you in your chosen career. Let's be honest though, there's not many careers where tattoos on your neck/face/hands aren't going to get you overlooked or ignored. Anyone with those areas tattooed really shouldn't be surprised if they're turned down for a job because of it.

Let me get this straight.

Do you wear clothes that you like?

Or do you just buy the cheapest, warmest most practical clothes at all times?

And I assume by that statement that you simply clip your hair the same length all over, and don't wear it in any kind of style.. because that would be stamping your individuality.

And that, as we know, you think is unnecessary.

Ok so you have a style of clothes hair etc etc becuase u want to look good. Is this the same with tatoos?

Quite so.

Tats are a personal choice and though, personally, I don't like them, I can understand that some people want them. That, of course, is their right. It's just a good idea to understand, as you clearly do, that there may be consequences. It's also worth remembering that though it may seem like a good idea in your teens or twenties, the consequences could still be occuring years, even decades, later. If someone still wants them, that's their choice. After all, the world would be a much more boring place if we all saw things the same way and wanted the same things.

I've had customer-facing roles with customers varying from shop floor to boardroom and have always had my ink on show. It never harmed me.

Tattooism and Tattoocists

I have 3 tattoos on my back, when I get a job I wont have a problem covering them up if need be.I can understand that because working on a shop floor or something like that and I bend over a lil old lady might get a bit of a shock,I have one symbol of an eye and it might wink at her!LOL.But i do not understand how some one with tattoos but equal grades/qualifications than another person without tattoos wouldn't get the job.Is there an ism word for that?Like Tattooism?and the people are called Tattoocists?

My ears offend some people, I'm aware of it, and I was aware of it when I stretched them,

You had your ears stretched? Maybe I've lead a sheltered life, but I've no idea what that's all about.

Piccies perchance?
