Taxman sent me a letter...

Best I had from the Taxman was when I was done for my music back in 1996 (!).
I had to start declaring gigs from when I thought they knew about me and when everything else was taken into account I owed them about £300.
Taxman investigated further and said I'd been paying the wrong tax for years and I got a total of £1600 back.

Just remember OP, it isn't a present but your own money that you basically put in a savings account and you got no interest either.
 
Take it this is bar work or something? 3yrs on br would be a hell of a lot for most full time jobs.

maybe the error for his tax-code wasn't that large? if he was only paying a small amount extra all this time...
 
Buy a new telly? Car? Consoles? Holiday?

You could get a fair bit for £3500, personally wouldn't spend loads on a pc because of the ever changing market, better kit coming out every few months etc.
 
So I take it these letters are still going out then?

I wont hold my breath about getting one but there is always hope. :)
