I got a cheque for £1500 from the taxman a couple of weeks ago. Add that to the £15,000 redundancy I got at the end of Jan, my bank balance looks quite nice . To top it all, I've had 3 job offers of which I've accepted 1 today !

Back in january the payroll department at work contacted me to say they thought my tax code was wrong. They gave me a form to fill in and sent it off. Turns out I had been on BR tax code for over 3 years since leaving my second job.
That will teach me to check my payslips more often!
Now the question is what shall I spend it on
Anyone else ever had a nice suprise from mr HMRC?
