Anyone have any idea if this will be available for pre-release download or the servers are gonna be battered on Friday!

Glad i went for disk version then. :) Hopefully it will arive day earlier and i'll be able to start playing as soon as i get home from work on friday. :D

Was steam, but canceled the pre-order on friday as i decided to get it from a well known shop which has just updated my order to shipped :) plus i get the casino thrown in, which is lacking from the steam version for the same price.

I don't know why the fuss was so grand about the first game and now this one. The graphics were/are average compared to other racers, the car handling was/is spongy compared to other racers and the dialogue in game was/is cheesy as well.

The scenery didn't look that great either compared to other racers. What exactly made this "the" racer apart from the licensed cars on display?

Think the problem more to do with there are very few good new racing games..;)

In last 12 months there most only be about 2 or 3 good racing games that been released for the PC..:(

There's quite a few but they were arcade focused although those are often more fun anyway. This series of TDU seems to be neither for me. On top of that the performance is also poor for the rubbish visual quality!

Well, tdu wasnt just about racing, its about just driving around unlimited roads of the whole island, find new friends, getting a group of people and just drive around and have fun, theres more to it than racing.

The thing that puts the Test Drive Unlimited games above other racing games for me is the freedom and not being confined to a circuit all the time, the ability to put on some of my own music and cruise around an island either by myself or with friends, or with people I've never met before. Racing around a track and always needing to be competitive in an online game gets on my nerves, plus there's always some idiot who can't play fair anyway so I tend not to buy racing games now.

Graphics aren't the best, but I honestly couldn't give a damn, they're not the be-all and end-all for me. The same for the physics, it's not very realistic but I've got other games for that.

Test Drive Unlimited is my chill-out game, it offers great amounts of driving freedom and hours and hours of exploration. Something Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport or their PC equivilents will never offer.

I only got it for the single playing aspect, I never took to racing games online apart from Mario Kart Wii (!).

well i`ve just started
playing
it the graphics look brilliant.

They're good but I wouldn't call them brilliant :p NFS:HP, the gfx in that game are brilliant.

In TDU there's hardly any traffic/action about on the roads too, what's with the emptyness. I'll never understand it.
