Team 17 prepping new 2D Worms

Bit of research shows this may not be as win as we think. Aparently Worms Reloaded (what it will be called) will just be a PC port of the XBox Live/PSN Worms game, which themselves are just ports of Worms Armageddon...

So likely nothin new, just Worms Armageddon but patched up with decent online. Still be good fun though.

I want a new Lemmings.

But the poor poor Lem's you've got to leave behind!

I'll probably give it a miss considering their last few 2D Worms games have been fairly crap (IMO obviously) None of them even came close to Armageddon & World Party.

Worms Armageddon 2 on Xbox Live Arcade wasn't that bad, but it was just stupid little decisions they made i.e fixing things that weren't broken that ruined it for me. My main gripe was what they did to the ninja rope, basically if you so much as scrape the terrain while not attached to the rope it wouldn't let you fire another rope so you went flying either into the water or across the screen and take damage so thats your turn over. Where as in the original Armageddon you could fire as many as you like as long as you didn't take damage or run out of time.

Oh God, those worms theme tunes are giving me serious flash-backs! I still remember the last game of worms 2 I ever played - down to 2 of my team left and one of my brother's precariously perched on a cliff edge. I was half-way across a pretty large map, but how can you pass up the opportunity for a poke that awesome? It took 5 perfectly-executed rope swings in a row to get me most of the way across the map, and on the very last one that would have dropped me right on his doorstep I ran out of rope swings. Well-timed too - it dropped me right on a mine, which blew me backward - onto another mine. Which launched me even further, onto a third mine, which tumbled that fallen hero down a slope, into my remaining worm sat comfortably on the very thin crust at the bottom of a hole, tangling both of them just far enough to set off the land mine nearby, which blew a hole in the crust and bounced both my worms to a watery grave. I was 11 years old at the time, I cried for about half an hour and never played worms again.

Still, I've grown up now. A couple of years ago I watched Watership Down from beginning to end for the first time since I was 5, so I think I'm ready.
