Cracking game, had a big session today too.

I have been playing on Simiancage lately (84.45.77.22:27045). Spotted some geezer called [OcUK]Booner or something the other day on there too :>

Oh and I have a question, rather than start a new thread. Any idea why my steamID shows me as unknown country when I have its set as UK etc, see sig?

tf2 is very good, but you can be lumped with a rubbish team. It's not as good as CS: S imo but they are very different games. I play it mainly because I've played Cs: S too much and I don't like CoD4.

TF2 is cracking fun for the non serious gamer. Beware tho, there's a few Speedy Gonzales idiots floating around as of late, totally ruining a decent game.

The Hampshire Heavies servers are rubbish, please avoid them. Full of complete idiots that don't know how to play as a team, and whine all the time.

Just... no. Don't even go there...:(

And by that I mean they're totally awesome, but go away and stop stealing MY slot ;)

Definitely worth queueing for however long it takes to get on there, especially if there's some @H|H regs on there or H|H clan members... a few people who know how some others play is a great thing to have. Also, the **** factor on voice chat is minimal. Just try to keep it that way :)

24 player (none of that 32 rubbish) is where the fun happens.

I have to say I think its pure genious. The only thing that frustrated me is the lack of documentation.

I cant seem to get my microphone to work. I can test that it is working and switched on in the options page but no one can hear me when I speak in game. My mic has an on/off switch which obviously i switch on. Is there a keyboard key I need to press to make it work or something?

Cheers

Holy thread revival!

I play TF2 a lot and thought I would get in MVM as well. Some of the missions are quite reasonable but broken parts is unbelievably hard. Seems like there are a lot of tactics I’ve not worked out yet. I play engineer and do a number of things.
  • Place dispenser in the cave on the furthest side where that little cove is with the rock and fence. Dispenser is maxed out range from the start.
  • Teleporter in the other cove (the one nearer the cave exit)
  • Sentry gun in the middle of the pathway so to shoot and block robots (especially the giant scouts). I try to max out fire speed, health and then metal for this.
  • Widowmaker shotgun. I max this out by wave 2 so I can help take the tank down with the phlog pyro.
A few issues I’m finding.
  • The sentry goes down against the giants being charged by the medics. Should I allow this to happen or should I move the sentry in advance to give people more time to take down the medic?
  • The wave of spies sab the sentry but the main issue is they can one kill you with the knife if you try to repair. Anything to try here?
  • Should I be maxing out the engineer abilities as well (critical hit resistance etc.) and at what point do I do this?

Edit:
I finally managed to defeat it. We had a great team this time with an awesome sniper. I put the dispenser behind the large rock where the sniper was sitting. I also used the rescue ranger so I could better maintain the health of the turret from a distance. To deal with tanks I maxed out my wrench and to deal with getting random hits from rockets, bullets etc. I maxed out my resistance to crit, bullets and rockets. I was near indestructible and could fight the tanks very well. I think the only thing I could have done better was to crit charge myself whilst fighting the tank. We managed to stop anything leaving the cave. Leaving the sniper and the turret to defend the cave entrance whilst taking down tanks was good. When snipers are called (they come from behind you) then get out there and start shooting them but don’t get close.
