Teeth

lol, wish I hadn't read this thread - mine are nagging me and removal will be inevitable eventually.
I now know I'm in for a treat when the time comes ;)

oh right .. see my problem would be if it irratates/itches cos you can't really do anything with it being in your mouth id just have to cope.

I have wisdom teeth, I don't understand why everyone has them removed though? They dig into my gums every so often but that's just my gums not used to something being there, my gums soon get used to change.

I had to have mine removed by surgery they kept getting infected. One time it was so bad I couldn't open my mouth so I went to A&E and they gave me some strong antibiotics. they also arranged the surgery to remove them.

It turned out that the part of the jaw was infected and a little bit of that had to be removed, it was still day surgery and I didn't really have any pain from it.

I've got wisdom teeth coming through, but I've been lucky, there's well enough room and they only cause me mild irritation rather than pain.

Two, same visit, top teeth, both sides, right at the back.
Didn't hurt one bit. After the injections he prodded about, I said I could feel it and he injected more then I couldn't feel a thing.

Yes and yes, operation in hospital under general aesthetic, growing into the jaw bone, it was not a pleasant experience.

I had mine out, the drugs made me giggly when I woke up this was very, very bad, the dentist told me to stop laughing, but I couldn't, I had blood and spit pouring out of my mouth. He told me that if I keep laughing, I'll regret it. I just laughed some more... When I was in the car I looked at myself in the mirror, laughed some more... When I got home I fell asleep, woke up and was in so much pain that I was screaming.

Plus side, I lost about 6 pounds whilst I was off work as all I wanted to eat was soup as it felt weird as **** to eat solids with 2 holes in my gums.

Just wondering .. has anyone here ever had wisdom teeth out and did it hurt much afterwards?

No I have my wisdom teeth, but I've had some teeth removed twice. Once owing to receiving a blow to the face playing rugby, and the other time was to even out my teeth - by removing 2 molars it meant my teeth would spread out as there was now a gap on one side of my jaw where my other teeth were.

The teeth removal procedure didn't hurt, and there was a bit of throbbing and discomfort afterwards but nothing too dramatic, I've had worse pain.

Wisdom teeth I would imagine are trickier as they are right at the back of the jaw and require more intrusive surgery and as such the pain is likely to be more.

Given my missus reaction to having wisdom teeth pulled and giving birth, I'd say they're about as bad as each other.

Her local anasthetic didn't work properly for the teeth pulling though.

i had a tooth out last week and my breath stinks atm, ive also got a horrid taste in my mouth. im see the dentist tomorrow but i was wondering if u guys who had there wisdoms out had the same problem at first?

Go the the local supermarket and get a mouthwash called Retar Dex, i had this issue when having my tooth out last week, 2 - 3 days using this mouthwash and the smell has completely gone.
