Indeed - could be, but being on drugs doesn't preclude the prospect of them being mentally ill either.

Possibly either a drug induced paranoid attack (seems unlikely due to the premeditated aspect of it), the direct result of mental illness, or such low intelligence the person could be classified as handicapped.
 
What's the point of silly laws over large magazines when crazy people can still walk into Walmart and buy a gun?

That's pretty much the problem with the USA.

Easy of availability of weapons combined with poor mental health provision.

Ironically the pro-gun people in the USA are right in a way (it's not guns which are the problem), in isolation they are fine - but to have a nation saturated with guns you need high welfare, low poverty & good mental health provision (like the Nordic nations, many of which have much more relaxed gun laws compared to us & lower crime).

The bitter irony to the US pro-gun lobby is that to have the guns really they need socialism.... :D

It's not complicated really, poor mentally ill people don't handle guns very well in a mixed society - hardly outlandish stuff.
 
I was arguing with some Americans a while back because they were callling the Isle of Man TT dangerous and saying it should be banned because riders die occasionally, as soon as I mentioned gun laws it's all "FREEDOM, AMERICA, **** YEAH" even though gun related deaths are astronomic.

Mental illness and poverty result in this kind of thing. Feel sorry for the innocent person gun down resulting from it.

Yes she quite blatantly is mental, it was part of the plea from both her and her husband and both have since received treatment.
 
Trailer Park + women that looks impoverished + gun = almost perfect Daily Mail story.

On a side note.... I actually went and looked at some trailers in the US with my head of disgust on.... only to find that some of them are awesome :-D (Honestly). You don't have to have them in a park, and I can only assume most are rented.
