Televising Wimbledon Annoyances (and discussing the tournament itself)

Not a fan of Serena, but I watched like 3 minutes of that match before muting it, absolutely don't want Azarenka to win. She is the worst for noise making of anyone I can think of, beyond ridiculous.
 
And the noises they make... they don't even sound like normal straining noises.

Listening to Sharapova/Azarenka, and they are making "wooeee", "wooroo", "wiiroo" noises. And you think, how did they develop these weird cries?

And why do they do it even on a drop shot? There's no physical exertion there!
 
I lasted 2 minutes watching Williams vs Azarenka. Its quite literally unbearable. I couldn't sit through that regardless of how much I wanted to watch womens tennis. The standard really isn't that brilliant either.

It's not a power thing, it's an aggression thing and it's idiotic. LIke I said above when you get one idiot grunting in the gym lifting a 40kg barbell while some guy behind him lifts 150kg quietly. It's this thing where you breathe out when you lift, or hit the ball probably, but some people think screaming/growling/generally making 'aggressive' sounds makes them stronger and better. Then it becomes just part of what you do, your default behaviour, hit the ball scream with aggression, or screech, wail, shriek, depending on the person.
 
The noise Azarenka makes is ridiculous and completely uncalled for. She should have 'Just Shut Up' go with her Nike sponsorship!

Any recognition of good tennis goes out the window to players who make such a noise, it's plain unsporting in my opinion!

It's really weird, unlike Sharapova's "moan", Azarenka's lingers all the way until the ball hits the other racket. It is way past the grunt/scream when you hit something hard.

I'm in favour of the theory that it's to distract the opponent from the sound of the ball on the racket so it's difficult to hear how hard it's being hit.
 
RE Kyrgios, I meant more of the tanking, outbursts aren't that bad providing he grows up lol.

Keen to see how sublime Federer does against some more serious opposition (>semi final).
 
Federer and Djokovic final again this year I think. Still cant believe Anderson giving up a few good chances against djokovic one the one set final the day after.

Doubt it, he's well past his best. I would love Fed to win one more but I don't think he has anything like the aura he had or the game to beat either Murray or ND anymore.

Federer is the best there has been, I just hope he doesn't prolong his career too much longer it's painful watching him get old and get beat by people that previously wouldn't have lived with him.

He's looked unbeatable so far! I'm not sure where you get the impression that he's well past his best? In this tournament he's barely broken a sweat!

And yes, I think he'll beat Murray.
